It's at its funniest when it moves out of the studio and into the world, where Triumph does his rude-dog-on-the-street act, like a canine Billy Eichner channeling what is not yet the ghost of Don Rickles. There is something actually audacious about these bits but also genuinely fun; you're let in on the game. Read full review

Truly funny interactions between Triumph and celebrities in the field get dropped into the studio-based inanity. The studio stuff is often dull, less funny and pathetically produced; it looks like some of the movies I made in high school. Read full review

Mirroring the kind of shtick he’s done for Conan, Triumph proceeds to insult fading luminaries like Hulk Hogan, William Shatner and “Star Trek: The Next Generation’s” Brent Spiner (“You’ve clearly been aging at warp speed”). It’s a taste of what Triumph fans have come to savor over the years, but also so much livelier and better than what came before that it’s hard not to wish they’d scrap the sitcom conceit and simply feature Triumph in these situations. still laughing!
the show just keeps getting better each week.
you need to get used to the laughter, but once that happens , it's really smart comedy that takes over.

Watching Triumph get ethical lessons from paparazzi? or play poker with Joey Fatone? and June Squibb playing tough and getting insulted? All priceless. And, of course, Jack is the perfect foil. Triumph still has it.

Addendum to prior review. The second episode of The Jack and Triumph Show combines verbal crudity with hilarious jokes in a finely honed piece of comedy writing. Triumph's Hollywood and TV put-downs are too good not to be true.

Outside of Triumph himself the sitcom angle is pretty bad. The plots are lame and Jack is really annoying, but the shear vulgarity Triumph brings to the table keeps these segments at least watchable even when it's choking on one of it's cheesy, sitcom-styled jokes. When he's sitting around bashing one of the quest celebrities it's quite funny. Even funnier is when he takes to the streets and starts making fun of people in the real world.

It's Triumph's crude jokes that keep things watchable and often pretty funny. However suffering through the crappy sitcom portions are almost not worth it. Outside of the back and forth between Triumph and June Squibb and the occasional mockery made of celebrity cameos these parts aren't worth anything and will turn many away from the show. Triumph himself is great, but issues with the show's format make it a hard watch at times.… Expand

I've loved triumph's brand of degrading humor. Ever since I'd first seen him on Conan's old time slot after Leno. Clowning on dorks waiting in line for the then new Star Wars, the Westminster dog show and when he pissed off eminem.

But Honestly I have a hard time watching this show. The Old lady and triumphs banter is pretty funny. But the that Jack Mcbrayer guy is just terrible. I've seen him on Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon and also on Tosh.0 for some reason. He's just awful. His attempts at humor are on the same level as that Tom Arnold movie "The Stupids" Maybe he's married to someone's daughter or somthing but I have no clue how he keeps getting work!?
Bags of rice have more personality than this guy. Everytime he smiles It feels like getting kicked in the balls.
Maybe he's a nice guy in real life? I get he's suppossed to be the like able character to keep the balance.
Doesn't work here though. Look at its always sunny. They're all awful people and it works!… Expand

I wanted to like this show. Triumph has had some iconic moments over the years. His take down of American Idol in Hawaii was classic but the acting, timing and direction are so bad it's embarrassing. Some argue that that's the point but it made for an uncomfortable viewing experience.
