While the show itself seems well produced and clearly has a decent cast - the material on which it is based is just not to my taste... I guess for me a 'post apolcaypctic' world has to follow a certain logic for me to buy into it. If you aren't fussed about the logic of the world and just want to immerse yourself in a fantasy (albeit nightmarish!) this may well be perfect for you.… Expand

Didnt feel her or the worldbuild. After reading many positiv reviews on fb groups i gave it a try. Total disappointment...
Other series are just better with their universe

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really wish it was better. Overshoots. Characters are inconsistent. Details are inconsistent. A few examples:
Makeup your mind - Serena Joy either understands the disaster she helped to create or she is an evil cooperator working against women’s rights. Nick is suddenly a mercenary for the cause but the first episode describes him as low status. He loves Offred but then disappears from the show. Did the actor get a new acting job? Terrible non-resolution. Details- does Offred have a device on her ear or not? During her first escape, she tears it from her ear. Her second escape, they can’t find her and don’t know she’s hiding at the house. Which is it?
The handmaids in DC have mouth rings. How do they eat? Ridiculous. Don’t say they take them off before bed because the handmaid still has it on at bedtime.
I really hope they do a better job in the upcoming seasons. Do better.… Expand
