Season 1 Review:
And yet it all works, at least if (like me) you’re a bit of a sucker for the Guardians to begin with. It’s funny enough to provoke out-loud laughter and poignant enough to elicit that telltale sting behind the eyes, if not quite enough to draw full-on tears. Maybe it lacks the heft of a true Guardians feature or series, but it’s exactly the holiday confection you’d want from this motley crew: shiny, fluffy and just odd enough to feel personal.

Season 1 Review:
If you like your Christmas specials with laughter and delight but, ultimately, an understanding of the innate bittersweetness and melancholy that can live beneath the merriment, this is likely the special for you. And the possibilities of what Gunn seems like he’s going to aim for in his final ‘Guardians’ installment, something potentially very poignant, sad, and special.

Season 1 Review:
The odd line about Mrs. Claus and poles aside, perhaps it lacks the acerbic edge of Gunn’s Guardians movies to date, and there’ll be some for whom the whole thing is simply too silly, but even the most hardened of hearts couldn’t fail to be softened a little by Drax beating the living crap out of a man dressed as a robot. Merry freakin’ Christmas.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special is brilliant, it is really funny and heart-warming, without a doubt, a great addition to the MCU.

Given what the intention was - something Christmass-y and fun and light hearted, then I thought this was quite nicely made and interesting to watch and should not been taken too seriously. I liked the first song performed in it a lot too.

The opening song is brilliant and funny. I also love the animated scenes since it’s poking fun at the Star Wars Holiday Special. Fun fact, Kyra Sedgwick also was just a voice on the phone in her husband Kevin Bacon’s movie, Cop Car.
