    It's slowing building steam, and it's doing it faster than Season 2 did. The Kings said they were going ot be taking risks with storytelling. If this were a cable show, or even NBC, there wouldn't be so much bias against it.

    Damn - I didn't realise there were separate pages for the different series of the Good Wife. Anyway, the Third Series is seriously weak in comparison to its predecessor; characters change overnight, court rooms come straight out of the Murder She Wrote drawer of realism and the plot well... doesn't really seem to know where it's going. But don't mind any of this if you haven't seen theDamn - I didn't realise there were separate pages for the different series of the Good Wife.     This is an amazing and somewhat understated series that seems to get better with each season. The writing is witty and each episode is fast-paced. The ability of the writers to make every single episode fresh and interesting, is nothing short of impressive, especially during a time when legal dramas seem to be in excess.     This is a far better show than most things on cable, not just network. The cases of the week could be more uniformly strong, but I don't care much about that. It's good as Justified, almost as good as Breaking Bad, and far better than Mad Men's recent seasons. This show, with Fringe and Parenthood and maybe The Vampire Diaries, even though I don't watch that, remains the saving grave ofThis is a far better show than most things on cable, not just network.     The Good Wife’s third season continues to strike an almost perfect balance between its procedural “case of the week” elements and larger ongoing story-lines demonstrating that the big networks are still capable of making TV shows to rival those offered by cable and streaming services.

    It started a bit slow but it's picking up. They should use Kalinda more, like they did in the past seasons. She is the second best character in the series, if it wasn't for her this show wouldn't be nearly as good.

    The Good Wife is one of the most criminally underrated TV shows around. In the UK it is hidden away on More 4 and deserves a place on a much more prominent channel. For those not in the know, the good wife is Alicia Florrick, the lawyer wife of the disgraced state attorney who struggles to restart her career in the aftermath of her husbands scandal. The show is basically a court room TVThe Good Wife is one of the most criminally underrated TV shows around. In the UK it is hidden away on More 4 and deserves a place on a much more prominent channel. For those not in the know, the good wife is Alicia Florrick, the lawyer wife of the disgraced state attorney who struggles to restart her career in the aftermath of her husbands scandal. The show is basically a court room TV drama with very compelling sub-plots and a great cast of interesting characters. Weekly legal cases are combined with long running story arcs involving Alicia's complicated personal life and co-workers.

    The third season follows the relationship between Alicia and her old flame and boss Will, as Alicia and Peter keep their separation secret for the benefit of Peter's political career. At work, Alicia questions her future at Lockhart & Gardner and acts as a mentor to new lawyer Caitlin while all the time struggling to keep her personal life separate.

    The strongest story-line in the third season is the indictment of Will for bribing judges by Alicia's husband, the current state attorney. Peter hands the investigation over the politically motivated Wendy Scott Carr and the story-line culminates in a fantastic episode where her case spectacularly collapses in front of the grand jury due to Will's clever tactics. The drama reminded me of the court scene from Stieg Larsson's third novel The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest which is high praise indeed.

    The show has an excellent cast of characters and actors, Julianna Margulies and Brit Archie Panjabi are excellent as Alicia and the complex Calinda respectively. Alan Cumming deserves recognition for his character Eli Gold, who provides most of the shows light heart moments with lines such as "the problem with Sun Tzu is that he never fought the Jews". Lighter moments are also provided by all the judges featured on the show, who are portrayed as quirky and particular characters.

    Guest stars Michael J. Fox, Jason Biggs and Matthew Perry spice up the action throughout the season.

    The season ends with a cliffhanger as it appears that Calinda's mysterious past may have caught up with her and Alicia realises that unintentionally her family has been brought back together, and she must choose if she wants to be a part of it.    … Expand

    Just watched 4 episodes straight off and I prefered these to series 2 where the in-house detective fight and the partner battles less than convincing.

    Can't wait to see the remaining episodes.

    Fantastic, wonderful, amazing, addictive, funny, intelligent, informative, good actors(actresses), wonderful casting and more ...
    One of the best series ever created !!!

    For careful, discriminating viewers, season three is noticeably inferior to the first two seasons. Mostly the scenarios are less believable. Instead of great acting by a handful of actors, season three relies on mediocre acting by a lot more actors per episode. They rely a lot more on supporting characters and one-time characters.     I have to agree that this show is nothing like anything else on TV, both network and cable. Though it's very frustrating at times with all the ongoing conflicts and dilemmas, The Good Wife promises one thing: everything is fine, for some moment, at the end of each season.

    The day "The Good Wife" is bad is the day that pigs fly. It is truly the best show on TV--on cable and network. It's witter, smarter, and more articulate in its third season...not to mention funny.

    The Good Wife continues to be one of my favourite 'traditional' style 22 episode TV shows. I don't know why but it scratches a certain itch for me. It is more than the sum of its parts. It is honestly, on first glance, such a basic and formuliac show. However eveything is executed to such a high level that it just excels. It's now become my go to show when I have nothing else to watch. ItThe Good Wife continues to be one of my favourite 'traditional' style 22 episode TV shows. I don't know why but it scratches a certain itch for me. It is more than the sum of its parts. It is honestly, on first glance, such a basic and formuliac show. However eveything is executed to such a high level that it just excels. It's now become my go to show when I have nothing else to watch. It is just solid, entertaining TV. It's competent, you get the sense that everyone knows what they're doing on it.

    Basically, the TV equivalent of 'does what it says on the tin'    … Expand
