Season 1 Review: The show’s narrative excess comes to seem wasteful and silly — a story about a manipulative architect who wants to help design the lives of the women who live in his construction, and it’s a little boring? And its leveraging of violence against women, including rape, to tell a story that isn’t really worth the time or emotional commitment viewers are asked to make is unfortunate. In all, fans of the book club-thriller genre would be well served by skipping “The Girl Before.” Read full review

Пока кто-то ищет свое отражение в зеркале, здешние герои находят отражение себя, а также имеющихся травм и отношений в собственном минималистичном доме. Turns out, there's a suspicious history of the property that involves another woman with a similar story. This series unfolds at a glacier pace, full of ominous portent, but little payoff. Both of the women look alike and the story ping-pongs between their stories, which adds to the confusion. This might have made a compelling movie, but the extended length just drags things into interminable length and the finale isn't worth the effort.… Expand
