This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Watchable decent paint by numbers superhero series. Reminders of No Ordinary Family, X-men, Mutant X, Heroes. I personally have low score as the plot line drags & the characters are thinly developed. The team of mutant refugees keep making dumb mistakes, sabotage each other & keep secrets/do not communicate well to make & execute a single plan successfully. I lost interest but will finish the series eventually

They do not work towards a group goal but individualistic & selfish ones e.g. A telepathic girl wants her family rescued so messes with the minds and creates problems among the rescue group to manipulate them to make a rushed/dangerous rescue attempt leading to capture of half the team and carries on manipulating the few who do not get caught to try again by causing dischord, split team, secret plans.

This show has a great production and its heart is constantly in the right place. The problem is that the acting and writing make it a total slog to sit through.

I liked the premiere. It had a few issues (felt a bit rushed, seemed to delve a bit into conventional/predictable storytelling), but overall, it was a good watch. Hopefully, the problems don't compound over time.

The first episode had a bit of promise. I was disappointed that there was no chemistry between Acker and Moyer but I set that aside hoping by episode 2 things would improve. They didn't.

The acting on the whole is fine and everyone is either lovely to look at or they are part monster. I am reminded of Heroes, only this series is not as slick as Heroes. The story is predictable and

The story is predictable and before the end of episode 2, I had decided that I would not be spending anymore time with this series. I want something clever and new. I am not interested in a rehash of what I've already seen.

It feels like this comic book adaptation was unnecessary, because we already have so many TV series linked to the X-men universe and story, which are simply better and more entertaining to watch and have better stories to tell. This made the series feel like it was a chore bringing it to the big screen. This made the series feel like it was a chore bringing it to the big screen. The pacing is very boring and in the first few episodes it's not immersive enough to keep the general audience entertained. Also the directing style was very basic, and not really special or outstanding by any means. A lot of plots where very cringe when watching which in my opinion is not a very good thing. The cast and the actors portraying the characters where the only good thing going for the series. Great job by them, but that only extends to the performance of the main characters. So overall it comes down to just not doing enough to make the series interesting enough for general audience and by this making it slightly below average series which could have been done a lot better. I want to like this show, No i want to love this show, but it suffers from weak writing.... I don't even blame the actors.... I entirely blame whoever is writing this show.... It's enjoyable, but expect plot holes.... lots of plot holes and shallow writing

The Gifted is driven by action, not character development, and it soon settles into a humdrum series of cheapjack versions of set pieces from Carrie. Don't get too excited; whether through budget shortfalls or fears of rousing the FCC programming police from their deathbed, there are no exploding heads or even a pig-blood shower. Such a pity.

There’s a lot to admire here, though whether the show can build on its initial promise remains to be seen.

This latest Marvel concoction is better than ABC’s Marvel’s Inhumans, which launched on Friday of last week. Still, an overall weariness prevails, perhaps even among the most fanatical Marvel diehards.
