Skillfully and competently done. No question. My only reservations are strictly my personal taste. First, after years of "fugitive freaks shunned by society" riffs in books, movies, comics and so on, I'm a little jaded. If I stop watching, it won't be a criticism of production quality, it'll be from me not being able to climb over the wall of "been there, done that." Second, I'm pastSkillfully and competently done. Second, I'm past jaded with the fugitive freaks being beautiful 20-year olds. Mutants are either gorgeous or they're some flavour of monster. Don't chubby teens with acne ever develop earthshaking power? In this X-Men universe, mutants have been around since WW II (at least). Where are the freaks that are 30, 40, 50? Hopefully the show will grow and mature to show these other folks. Expand

Finally a comic book show done well. It feels real and believable. Characters are well cast and likable. Vampire Bill not 100% believable as a human being, but tolerable. I'm glad to see Amy Ackerman again. The actors playing the 2 kids are flawless.

Surprisingly good. When I first saw the trailer, I thought it was going to be a vampire diaries type show aimed at twelve year olds, but it is not. It is actually a very well made X-Men show.

the story aims for 14-16 years old viewers and the actors are chosen accordingly. no surprises, the story has already been told uncountable times, often better. I only viewed the first two episodes and quitted..

A mixed bag of inconsistencies. As others have pointed out, these mutants have not yet learned how to cooperate and effectively put their enemies on the defensive. Maybe that’s part of the plot to come, but does it take Xavier to lead?

This show will be a bit pathetic until they establish a mutant safe zone in this country and start helping the normals in true X-Men fashion. The balance of power between the sides needs to be more equal and the “new X-Men” need to get their act together.

This show’s overall plot is moving almost glacially. It’s more about talking about doing stuff than actually doing it. Let’s pick up the pace and get to something significant in the story and soon!

The debut is just amazing with blink and her powers and emma dumont.
The family casting is just on point ,i really felt close to them within the first minutes which is becoming very rare on tv lately. The plot goes smoothly with just the right amount of mystery and secrets.
It looks really promicing anyways and im soooo looking forward to it

This first season was absolutely incredible. Great acting, writing, plot line, CGI, the way they handled everything was top notch quality and what I think we've been waiting to see from a superhero tv show. It was captivating, made the issues feel real with real consequences. I'm a big fan of a lot of superhero tv shows, but this felt like a well needed breath of high quality fresh air.

I found amazing the idea of connect the series with the X-Men movies, It's so cool we can finally see the events before X-Men Apocalypse on screen, the screenplay was alright, the choice to put Emma Dumont as Polaris seemed excellent to me and we have a cameo of Stan **** Lee. It was a great start for the series. Expand

I tried watching this show, because it sounded interesting. but, after watching not even 3 mins of it, I turned it off. It is horrible. Watch something else like The Good Doctor, or Watch Ten Days In The Valley over on ABC. Not this, its no good.

Even though it is a sort of guilty pleasure, The Gifted is actually pretty engaging while tackling some social issues through a fantasy-like universe.

The show is quiet different of those we are used to watch, much darker for a Marvel story? And I assure you it's better this way.
The characters are nice and there is a real mesage in it. I only see the 3 first episodes and I really like the show so far.
They don't infantalize it like with deadpool or with every defender. The Fox did a great job.

I love watching the gifted. The gifted is a show that is intense and shows the truth of the real world for mutants. I think the best show yet was season 1 episode 9. I really hope that there is a a season 2 and so forth. Keep up the good work, and don't forget that you guys have millions of fans that love you and adore you including me!!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Watchable decent paint by numbers superhero series. Reminders of No Ordinary Family, X-men, Mutant X, Heroes. I personally have low score as the plot line drags & the characters are thinly developed. The team of mutant refugees keep making dumb mistakes, sabotage each other & keep secrets/do not communicate well to make & execute a single plan successfully. I lost interest but will finish the series eventually

They do not work towards a group goal but individualistic & selfish ones e.g. A telepathic girl wants her family rescued so messes with the minds and creates problems among the rescue group to manipulate them to make a rushed/dangerous rescue attempt leading to capture of half the team and carries on manipulating the few who do not get caught to try again by causing dischord, split team, secret plans.

I liked the premiere. It had a few issues (felt a bit rushed, seemed to delve a bit into conventional/predictable storytelling), but overall, it was a good watch. Hopefully, the problems don't compound over time.

This is a good pilot. It sometimes feels a little rushed but it hits every note with confidence and emotion. The characters are given just enough room to stand out too. I am definitely keen to see where this goes and hope the writers continue their focus on family. More mutants each week does not mean better. Show us their struggles and keep the show grounded. Then this will be a winner.

"The Gifted" was very good, it's really another story of X-Men something very dramatic that does not leave aside the mutant universe, the characters that we enter are good, the effects too and the story was good, the plot can be something confusing but according to what happens and will happen in the series we can fit some pieces of which will treat this series.

There are a number of good things about The Gifted. It does a good job of portraying a war between two sides and showing how this battle toxifies as each side digs in, increasingly convinced they have no choice but all-out war. The cast is solid. The story arc is fairly interesting. And I love the triplets that show up near the end of the season.

But having watched season 1, I don't really see myself watching season 2. Because somehow the series never quite reaches that next level where it becomes must-watch. It's consistently fine and pretty good at keeping you watching from one episode to the next, but with better series like Legion in this world, it just doesn't do *quite* enough for me.

terribly boring, the characters do not evolve and in each chapter they repeat the same theme, it is as if they resisted the script of the first episode and tried to extend it a whole season, I am a fan of the marvel universe and the thematic mutant, but this series does not go To nowhere.

The visual effects used have at least 3 decades of delay, the mutant powers are basically the same.

This is a cool idea. I'm unfamiliar with many of the comics for these characters, but I'm familiar with the X-Men and this is a cool followup. I hope they go into more of why the X-Men aren't around, or maybe I missed it. Good show worth watching.

Such a good idea and such horrible realization. And the further the show goes the worse it becomes. Or you simple realize more and more with every episode how dumb the characters, the dialogues and the whole story is.

Nothing good can be found here. Horrible quality overall and a waste of time.

The first episode had a bit of promise. I was disappointed that there was no chemistry between Acker and Moyer but I set that aside hoping by episode 2 things would improve. They didn't.

The acting on the whole is fine and everyone is either lovely to look at or they are part monster. I am reminded of Heroes, only this series is not as slick as Heroes. The story is predictable and

The actors are really good, the special effects are also goods. The script is OK, and the characters are excellent. Can't wait to see the others episodes!

The Gifted is an amazing show.
This was Marvel's attempt to bring super heroes to the small screen, and I think they did a decent job.
The visual FX are below average, but they did what they could with their low budget.

When the entire plot revolves around the gifted people not remembering how to use their gifts from one scene to the next, it makes for a pretty silly show to watch. The premise of the show in the X-men universe seems worth watching. The recurring plot of gifted people perpetually surrounded by cops clearly unprepared for dealing with the various gifts and the gifted people just sitting like powerless dumb bunnies gets really old. I keep thinking the cliche's will disappear soon and the actual plot so far missing will reveal itself.

The pacing is very boring and in the first few episodes it's not immersive enough to keep the general audience entertained. Also the directing style was very basic, and not really special or outstanding by any means. A lot of plots where very cringe when watching which in my opinion is not a very good thing. The cast and the actors portraying the characters where the only good thing going for the series. Great job by them, but that only extends to the performance of the main characters. So overall it comes down to just not doing enough to make the series interesting enough for general audience and by this making it slightly below average series which could have been done a lot better. It shouldn't be normal to be able to write better than the pros. In The Gifted most of us would be able to write better twists, turns, and characters. You will be left wanting. The show isn't without its bright spots and moments... Yes you will shed a tear or two, but remember it's a mutant soap opera... Which makes that behavior normal. The cheap melodrama, over explanation of dialogue, and lack of purpose and heroic direction eventually wears on you.

Finally, if you want a female night crawler, magneto, prof X, along with 3-5 other main characters with the most powerful abilities to all be FEMALE. Then you come to the correct IP. If instead you want males to imagine yourself as... All you have are weak beta males, anti-heroes, and villains.

I'd watch it if you are done with everything else, with the understanding it will never fulfill you for even more reasons I didn't get into. Also, expect it to be canceled soon and replaced by some other SJW crap. Which will also be canceled... Maybe in 2077 we'll be done with this crap...

The Gifted is driven by action, not character development, and it soon settles into a humdrum series of cheapjack versions of set pieces from Carrie. Don't get too excited; whether through budget shortfalls or fears of rousing the FCC programming police from their deathbed, there are no exploding heads or even a pig-blood shower. Such a pity.
