TEOTFW is a brilliant coming of age romance about two quirky and weird teenagers who fall in love whilst trying to run away from their past. It is almost the British version of Bonnie and Clyde with a healthy dose of violence, black humour and tenderness. It is cleverly written, well acted, well paced and just flat-out interesting. Whilst there are many cliche moments and some of the storyline could have been written more naturally, TEOTFW succeeds like no other TV show because its hilariously funny whilst being tender to its core.

One of the best thing about this show is that it only comprises of around 20 minute episodes making it very easy to binge and enjoy. The pace never feels languid and we get a good sense of the world by the end of the series. In many ways this is the British TV version of the 2010 movie Submarine. It has similar characters but also similar way in which it deals with topics such as depression, growing up, rebelling against authority and teenage romance. Also the soundtrack to this series is bloody amazing - easily 10/10 and a must

Tiene un concepto muy interesante y lo mantiene toda la serie, las actuaciones están bastante guais, pero tampoco es nada de otro mundo como te intentan vender, está bien, es buena serie, pero ya está.

One of 2018's best tv shows.
Disturbing at times, but this darkly funny show about two disenfranchised teens also has some heart.
    Must see TV.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love, love, love the vibe this show gives off. At its core it's a bonnie and clyde story but it's use of dialogue, cinematography, acting and its general atmosphere elevate beyond this premise. The two lead actors are relatively unknown imo (I've seen the bloke in Black Mirror but nothing else) and they put in fantastic performances. This is my second time watching S1 and I just find it so hypnotic.

The episodes are short but sweet; I just love how understated this whole season feels. It's eventful but at the same time it never feels too hyperbolic. It's a hard tone to describe but none-the-less I really enjoy it.

This gets a 10 solely on the fact that it excels in exactly what it aims to do. It's strange and a bit quirky but it absolutely uses this to its strength. It feels so odd to enjoy a show so much without being able to specifically place why. I'd encouraged people to watch it as then you'll understand exactly what I mean.

A great show that uses the central characters problems as a central excuse for comedy. By setting up two unreliable narrators this story remains entertaining.

Not many drama series have been adapted from comics, The End of The F***ing World is an exception. Installing the same title as the comic made by Charles Forsman, the series begins with James (Alex Lawther) who just turned 17 years old.

I didn't expect anything from The End Of The F***ing World. A dramatic comedy of teenagers whose episodes are of maximum 22 minutes and with one of the boring main actors in the world as Alex Lawther is.

This Netflix version keeps the soft, dreamy, introspective feel of the graphic novel it's based on, but really brings the originally crudely drawn characters into a stunning, moody-beautiful world of color.

By the second episode, I was ready to write off Alyssa for being a completely annoying brat, and was getting bored of James' killing obsession, but luckily the show doesn't linger too long, quickly unveiling their more intimate depths. The two effortlessly bounce from one potentially traumatic incident to the next, driven by the innocence of their youth, even as they try to escape that innocence. The characters that surround them are complex and beautiful in their everyday tragicomic humanity -- you can feel deep emotion in even the briefest encounter. The only thing that isn't quite resolved at the end is the relationships between both Alyssa and James and their parents -- I would have liked to see James acknowledge his father as a flawed but loving human, and would have loved to see something awful happen to Alyssa's stepdad.

    3-dimensional heroes: Yes.
3-dimensional secondary characters: Yes, very much so.
Avoids Born Sexy Yesterday: Yes, while still keeping Alyssa human in both strength and tenderness.

Innovative premise: Nothing new, but well told.
Exposition: A little annoying, but tidied up by the end
    Rising Action/Climax: Great
    Resolution: Amazing in its open-endedness.

Insightful philosophy: Yes. Many moments (presumably drawn from the original book) of reflection about the world and the discovery of self
Balance of funny and deep: Excellent.

    Cinematographically artistic: Gorgeous.
Pacing: Great. Not too punchy with the action, never drags.
Soundtrack: A little on the hipster side, but perfectly matches the mood and rural setting.

I totally did not see this coming. This got me on my feelings! The story was so vague at first and the way the dialogue was constructed really shocked me because it really is unnecessary whimsical and unnatural for someone to say in real life but the bluntness by the characters are actually hilarious and cute. Very remarkable, short series. A fresh breath of air, really.

The series is good. It's dark but at the same time dark, and you can feel the character's problem and, because of that, we follow and support them. The only huge problem is the detective's relationship, totally unnecessary, repetitive and unfunny. I ingest the show very quickly, and i felt a empty space in my heart when finished it.

Dreadful TV series with very predictable story. Characters are bad and very cliche. only characters that are relatively interesting are the two police officers whose story is very shallow at best. Acting is very stale.

Very typical of Channel 4s tv shoes aimed to immature and naive teenagers (coming from a teenager)

The first three or four episodes are brilliant, but as the season goes on it becomes clear that the quality slowly begins to falter. Luckily, a weak episode of this show is still a great and engaging one. The narration a lot of the time was nice and didn't bother me, but sometimes the show could have benefited without it. The characters and their odd relationship with each other was what kept me interested, and the absurd obstacles they encounter just added to it. I think the cinematography is perfect. I really like the direction. The script is funny and well written. The performances could be better. I like the soundtrack. And also it's very short so you can watch it at any time quickly. I just have one problem and is that some things are there and not really use full to the plot, so I felt those moments slow.

It’s funny, and it’s sweet; it’s violent, and it’s romantic. Its leads are both reprehensible and totally sympathetic; both scared kids and responsible adults. It seems the mark of an honest production that the characters are arrestingly recognizable--and revealed so thoroughly to the audience that judging them feels impossible. By the end I was unsure if I wanted them rounded up by the authorities or free to go out in a blaze of glory; the only thing I was sure of was I wished there were more episodes.
