Full disclosure: I'm a lifelong Yankees fan, and yes, I loved watching scenes of their dynasty years, with all those players who were great in their own right.

But I don't think you have to be a Yankees fan, or even a baseball fan, to enjoy this series, because at the center is a man of real character who knows himself and what he values, and relates to others accordingly. Derek Jeter is a hero to people like me for the way he played; he was immensely talented, and never hesitated to put his best into winning, into team play. But the way he was raised by outstanding parents, with wise love and deep integrity, is valuable in its own way. More so, really.

What poise, and honesty, and even a twinkly sense of humor! I highly recommended this series for anyone who wants a portrait of a man who can lead and inspire, not only because of what he does, but because of WHO HE IS.… Expand
