    I give it a 6 because the production value is off the charts, but the acting is wooden, and the fight choreography is insulting. I mean they had a sure fire hit, if they simply stuck with what worked on The Mandalorian, but the lackadaisical editing can't save Temuera Morrison from the goddawful direction. They gave Robert Rodriguez a shot but that's enough of that, let's not do that again.

    This isn't the show you're looking for. Horribly bad generic writing. Obnoxiously low budget that's overpolished. But hey if you like dollar store steak with a Boba Fett sticker on it then this is the show for you!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. What the hell have I just seen? Sorry guys, but this thing is just not working. My main points so far:

    - Main character is just not believable as a hero or action hero, feels wooden and old, sad to look at. I like Temuera Morrison, but he just can't pull this of, you literally feel his wish to retire.

    - There is no logic in this show, how should declaring yourself a crime lord work with basically 2 people? The sand people are beyond ueseless, the 2 guards can't do anything... Why should anyone pay tribute? Out of pity? The motor scooter gang is beyond ridiculous and the recruiting scene had me cringe really hard. How did he survive the Wookie attack? A wookie can tear you apart without even breaking a sweat.

    - Show looks cheap, lot of immersion breaking stuff like these power ranger Vespas. Most Tatooine shots feels like recycled material from the original trilogy. That scooter chase scene felt so incredibly slow. What was the plan behind attacking the train, there was no logic to it.

    - What is the point of the story? What is this about? 3 episodes in and I have no idea. What is the goal of the character, what is the heros journey?

    I'll probably see a few more out of boredom (thanks covid) but if this is the future of Star Wars I'm really worried. Obi Wan Kenobi, you are my only hope    … Expand

    Incredibly boring first episodes. The plot is not moved forward at all and pointless negotiations are the point of this episode. I'm hoping future episodes improve.

Next time you want to do the call it the history of bona fett not the book. The trailers lied to us, there is very little present day story and more basic boring back story. Coming from the mandolorian to this is a disappointment. Why don't we call it the book of tusken… Expand

    Not bad but I don’t see the point of watch Boba Fett after watching The Mandalorian. It seems weaker in every way.

    A disappointment despite the good final. It has however enjoyable moments and an excellent set up for Mandalorian season 3. Many expected this to be a show that deals with the crime underworld of Star Wars and Boba Fett being a badass. Both are untrue. Instead a lot of the show is set up for later, backstory is told to much, it feels like filler material and set up for Mandalorian season 3A disappointment despite the good final. It has however enjoyable moments and an excellent set up for Mandalorian season 3. Many expected this to be a show that deals with the crime underworld of Star Wars and Boba Fett being a badass. Both are untrue. Instead a lot of the show is set up for later, backstory is told to much, it feels like filler material and set up for Mandalorian season 3 instead of Book of Boba Fett. The best episode of the season has no Boba Fett in it as example. Boba Fett’s journey is interesting but nothing as awesome as he was in Mandalorian. I thought first he tricks everyone with kindness but it is genuine. This weakens him as character and bites him in the back. Sadly even the teaser at the end of Mandalorian season 2 was better than some episodes. I sound too negative as I already admit that this show has great moments and fan service. For example I like the return of many characters, Boba Fett’s new pet and character that trains it, the backstory how Boba became his stick (I am in the minority here if I read other reviews correct), the final battle and the set up. It is not bad if it would lead to more. I think the show has pacing problems and some episodes end without something mayor happening. While these are not awful the negative feelings accumulate and the questions “When does the good stuff happen?” and “Was Boba Fett always like this?” are in the room. Like I said the “Return of the Mandalorian” episode is a contrast and reminds you what is possible. They do more in this episode than in the 4 Boba Fett episodes before and succeed. I would rate these episode as 10/10 and for most it is in the 9-10/10 range. This weakens the other episodes too or better said the perception. The final episode is great and raises my rating a bit. However it changes not that Boba Fett is not in the top 5 characters in the show and his story is pale in comparison to the Mandalorian or his books that I read. The soundtrack is truly great for me especially the ending theme. Overall I think the show is a missed opportunity and probably the best example for the statement “Mediocre is worse than bad” which I normally do not agree with. However on the positive side I am hyped for Mandalorian season 3.… Expand

    As much as the show is polished, it feels like mediocre fan fiction. It answers questions that really didn't need to be asked. Hopefully we will get a show one day that's not fan service and works as an original piece of art.

    A slow start and kind of boring, but it's nice to see Temuera Morrison back as Boba Fett and as a titular character. It's kind of sad seeing how all the mystery around the character goes away, but let's hope there are some surprises along the way.

    Disney continues to mess up Star Wars. Morrison and Wen do fine and Rodriguez makes the most of his budget as he's always done, but the writing and world-building are so stupid and ludicrous. The first few minutes alone involving the Sarlacc are poorly done. The stuff with the Tusken Raiders literally put me to sleep. There is no mention of the Hutts trying to retake the planet, when theyDisney continues to mess up Star Wars. None of the threats established seem interesting in the slightest. It is obvious that the budget was not there for this show to have any real stakes aside from more random subplots. I sense a middling threat-of-the-week structure that completely misuses and misunderstands the character.… Expand

    I went with zero expectations after the fiasco of TheMandalorian and I found almost less than expected. Very bad direction. The battle coreography is aweful. The acting just correct. And the writing aweful. Filled with fan service as its predecesor. Sure fans will say it's the best piece of Star Wars media to ever come out since episode IV.

In the beginning, I appreciate the context of Boba's past but I really did not understand why the creators had to drag out his past throughout the episode. It did not feel relevant. Furthermore, the choreography was not as well coordinated or precise as it was in The Mandalorian. Lastly, the teaser trailer included no mention of the sand people, but the episode seems to be saturated in that people group, hence the dragging out of Boba's past. I chose to give the first episode a 5 because it did not deliver on what was anticipated, and I will have to wait and see what the second episode brings to the table. So far, I was not amused.… Expand

    Seeing some hate out the gate on this one. I dug it. It really is just an offshoot of the Mandalorian, and I don't think that's a bad thing. I'm not ready to throw that playbook out just yet, and this dovetails nicely into that world. No, I'm not that versed in the SW universe that I can nitpick every little detail, and I've only read a few books, but you don't need any of that to enjoySeeing some hate out the gate on this one. I dug it. It really is just an offshoot of the Mandalorian, and I don't think that's a bad thing. I'm not ready to throw that playbook out just yet, and this dovetails nicely into that world. Almost forgetting that it came out today I went in not knowing much about it. I can really see a footing of a good show start here.     I loved the first episode it was nice seeing him escape the sarlaac and I really like the flashback. Idk why many people are disappointed with this episode sure it was not perfect but I really like it. There wasn’t much action but I liked how it filled in the gaps between ROTJ and the mandalorian which is a 5 year difference and finally connecting to the prequels the show will get betterI loved the first episode it was nice seeing him escape the sarlaac and I really like the flashback.     While not the riveting start to the season that fans clearly wanted, the Book of Boba Fett has plenty of promise going forward. Ignore literally 100% of the reviews out on the internet. The series is said to be 7 episodes and only 2 of the episodes have been released so far. There's literally no way anyone has seen enough of the series to understand its storyline and where it's going yet.While not the riveting start to the season that fans clearly wanted, the Book of Boba Fett has plenty of promise going forward. Ignore literally 100% of the reviews out on the internet. The series is said to be 7 episodes and only 2 of the episodes have been released so far. There's literally no way anyone has seen enough of the series to understand its storyline and where it's going yet.     It's not terrible or awesome...it's Mixed, a little on the boring side To sum up:
    .Worst than "Mandalorian"
    -Slow story progression that don't really go somewhere -Fluctuating quality in episodes...both in action scenes and story -Tatooine Mods are now the "most irritating and out of place characters in the StarWars. franchise" stealing the first places from Jar Jar Binks, Ewoks and    It's not terrible or awesome...it's Mixed, a little on the boring side To sum up:
    .Worst than "Mandalorian"

    -Fluctuating quality in episodes...both in action scenes and story
    -Tatooine Mods are now the "most irritating and out of place characters in the StarWars. franchise" stealing the first places from Jar Jar Binks, Ewoks and even Midichlorian .
    -Boba gets the "Cruella re-design job"..so it isn't a cool-bad guy anymore but It is now a p.c. rebel that get bullied from everyone.
    -Lots of cameo from others S.W series...but barerly introducted and used....so they feels like unnecessary fanservice.

    Wow, this was bad, not worth the watch at all. The only good episodes were with the Mandalorian, Boba Fett did not stick to the cannon at all, so disappointing.

    While at times this show does seem like an extension of the Mandolorian, it is entertaining enough in it's own right and with plenty of references to past Star Wars characters it will keep the fans happy.

    Es una serie extraña, bebe mucho de Mandalorian, por lo que se le puede achacar falta de personalidad, pero luego tiene sus toques que, puede que no sean suficiente, pero sí le dan su forma personal. Empieza bien, narración muy buena, la banda sonora es espectacular, la compensación entre historia y acción, pero también presenta fallos en la acción, son medio malas, sobre todo lasEs una serie extraña, bebe mucho de Mandalorian, por lo que se le puede achacar falta de personalidad, pero luego tiene sus toques que, puede que no sean suficiente, pero sí le dan su forma personal. Empieza bien, narración muy buena, la banda sonora es espectacular, la compensación entre historia y acción, pero también presenta fallos en la acción, son medio malas, sobre todo las grupales, individualmente no tanto.
    Me gusta el tema que trata, de como pasar de ser un don nadie a ser el jefe, por el camino bueno y no por la violencia, aún así, no acabo de empatizar de todo con Boba Fett, y eso que era un personaje que me encantaba, pero me da la sensación de falta de carisma todo el rato. También es bastante previsible lo que va a ocurrir y cómo se desarrollan las cosas, de cara al final no tanto, pero no hay ningún giro demasiado brutal, a excepción de uno, jeje. En Mandalorian había una sensación de progreso, de logro, esta es como una sensación más de antihéroe, sin ser nada de eso, pero de que no consigue lo que quiere, todo son trabas raras.
    El capítulo 5, por ejemplo, me parece maravilloso, y el 6 más de lo mismo, pero para la trama principal no aporta demasiado, es que es raro, aunque al final tenga sentido, no sé por qué esto, puro fan service, supongo. Por último, los momentos de western mola que flipas, esto ya es pura representación del género y me flipa. Sobre todo la escalas muy progresiva desde el comienzo de los episodios, para mí, empieza bien pero con momentos flojos, pero cuanto mas se acerca el final, va muy increchendo.

    · Cosas buenas: el equilibrio acción-historia, magistral. La banda sonora es muy muy buena. Todos los guiños a Star Wars y los huecos que rellena. El estilo muy western me flipa, y el final es muy bueno.
    · Cosas malas: es muy Mandalorian, le falta algo de personalidad, Boba Fett no mola tanto como antes, y eso que es el protagonista. la velocidad en las escenas de acción es pocha, y el ritmo general es muy muy irregular, tanto en narración como en avance de la trama, que tiene momentos de bailar bastante.

    · Conclusión: si te gustó Mandalorian, esta te va a gustar. Aunque le falte personalidad, los personajes son los que son, y son maravillosos. La trama tiene momentos muy bailables, pero eso, al final tiene sentido.    … Expand

    Weaker than Mandalorian in every way. The writing is mediocre to bad, the acting is unimpressive, and the story is not interesting. Just watch Mandalorian and skip this.

Then, practically halfway through the show, Boba disappears and the Mandalorian becomes the protagonist of the show, so much so that I wonder if it makes sense if this series is called that and not The Mandalorian 2.5. Political vote because I have not yet understood how I should evaluate it.… Expand

    The show demystifies him in the workmanlike way that today’s cinematic universes inevitably treat their bit players: by turning them into boring old heroes. ... But look to the margins, to the creatures who aren’t saying much, for the saga’s future, because they still hold the promise of stories that, just maybe, we haven’t been told before.

    A new series with no true identity. Even the concept art over the end credits can’t escape feeling borrowed from The Mandalorian. This premiere isn’t a total disaster, hinting at a grander crime saga to come. But there’s just nothing to chew on from this first chapter of The Book of Boba Fett.

    The Book Of Boba Fett continues this run of quality, giving us insight into a character that has long fascinated fans of the franchise. ... Morrison gives Fett a sense of regal humanity that makes his desire to reform the galaxy’s underworld under his watch plausible. And Wen, as she’s proven in the MCU, kicks major ass as Shand. Both bring the requisite senses of humor to their roles.
