Blacklist: Redemption is a sturdy show built on a smart premise.

The real question for The Blacklist: Redemption’s future success is whether or not Janssen and Eggold will be able to carry a title that has been, until now, entirely dependent on Spader’s magnetism. Based on the premiere, it seems unlikely--Tom is not even the second-most interesting character from “The Blacklist,” and Scottie’s mystique makes it hard to feel intimately connected to her character.

No. No no no NO! This is NOT what NBC should produce out of a masterpiece that is Blacklist.

They just some fringe characters from Blacklist to put together the flattest single-layer cliche characters who are now members of a supposedly ragtag group of operatives, flowing with the usual arrogant over-confident quips you would expect from C-class spy-genre wannabe directors who don't actually know what makes a "badass" operative character.

Plot is already obvious and badly setup, team members have the same depth and personality of your average aquarium goldfish, motivation of the show characters is weak at best. And relateability? non-existent.

You now have Good Blacklist, crappy Blacklist, and this crappy new Blacklist desperately needs... Redemption, from this joke of a premiere.

Over the top, and little of the mystery that makes Blacklist watchable. Full Review »
