While the pace in the kitchen and the series is frantic, the atmosphere is 100% negative. Almost every minute of the first ep is crammed with anger and shouting. The subsequent ones delve a bit into his character's issues, but it's still a downer. The only bright spot comes from the sweet, yet frustrated character created by Aye Edebiri, as the new trainee. Things may get better in future shows, but the destructive energy is so toxic that it left a bad taste in my mouth. (Review based on 3 of 8 one-hour eps).… Expand

Watched two and a half episodes and just didn't care about the characters. And for a Drama Comedy, it wasn't really funny. I feel like this show has potential, but I don't get why it's such a hit.
