Bathroom humor just isn't funny. Nice how they added a canned laugh track to it. Awful, just awful.

To effectively review this show, you need to observe it with a politically-neutral viewpoint. To review this show on comedic merit, it is absolutely horrible. Its structure of set-up, punchline, set-up, punchline, combined with its poor sketch acting and a LAUGH TRACK creates a dismal production that should never have even made it to a pilot episode.

The worst show of all time... The 1/2 Hour News Hour is a pathetic attempt at a republican version of the Daily Show. Remember Fox is the channel that brought us (the viewers) many shows uninteresting shows like the OC and American Dad. Don't Watch this, It's just sick. Everyone should loathe it.

Any 10 on here proves the long-known belief that conservatives have no sense of humor. Or that no matter how positively bad someone or something is, if it is presented by some right-wing blowhard, THEN IT'S AWESOME! All politicians suck and so do the people who worship them!

This show is so horrible! The Daily Show criticizes both the LEFT AND RIGHT. This show just attacks anything left leaning with no humor whatsoever! The 1/2 Hour News Hour uses a laugh track(obviously), while The Daily Show uses their live audience who actually laugh because Jon Stewart is hilarious!

Full disclosure: I am a liberal. I don't plan to vote for Barack Obama because he has very little experience on the federal level. I don't mind having conservative comedy, but how can anyone think this is funny? It honestly offends me to think that anyone believes people watch The Daily Show solely because it has a liberal bent. It also happens to be extremely funny on a level completely unrelated to politics. This show is not. Put aside your political differences and ask yourself if you'd watch this if it weren't politically motivated. And since I'm sure this is meant to appeal to the younger demographic (who like the absurdist humor of South Park or Daily Show), ask yourself whether this is the way you want your side to be represented. But that's all just trying to be neutral. Personally, I would enjoy it if this show was on the air for years. If this is what conservatives consider funny, I can assure you, that makes me very, very happy. Expand

The US has sent some great comedy shows across the pond over the years, but this isn't one of them. You could just see the writers trying to think of ways to satirise people who aren't in power. I can't believe my Tivo thinks I might want this show saved next time.

This show is no different than I hear on a daily basis on talk radio. America is a two party system, it pains me to hear attacks on either party. It aids our enemies.

Real humor is about exposing the absurdities of modern life and confronting uncomfortable cultural truths and trends. Modern American "conservatism" is about spewing absurd anachronistic babble with a straight face and redefining "truth" until it is devoid of any meaning whatsoever. Genuine "humor" is not compatible with the ideology of the New Right. PS: This show sucks.

Boy that was rough. Were they trying to be that bad? Was that the joke and I missed it? I felt like I was back in middle school watching the A/V kids do the school news. Fox should stick to what it does best, lie and bully the American masses. Wow, that was bad. Brought to you by the Republican party, home of rich people and rednecks!

I cannot imagine why anyone would voluntarily watch this show. It does exactly the wrong things that funny fake news (John Stewart, Steven Colbert, some SNL 'Weekly Updates') thankfully don't: it's relentlessly political, never takes more than 30 seconds to set up and deliver a one-liner joke, and to add injury to injury, also can't even find funny punchlines. Watch 2-3 John Stewart clips: he'll make fun of the Democratic presidential candidates, laugh at Anna Nicole Smith's court case, poke fun at Cheney and them himself - he lampoons everything. This show skewers only liberal targets, delivers the 'jokes' one after the other, and sounds more like two drunk conservatives cracking awful jokes than a comedy show. Comedy, after all, is supposed to be FUNNY. Expand

I wish I could give this one a minus rating. It's hard to tell the difference between this show and regular Fox News Programming. Actually, there is a big difference. Regular Fox News is much funnier. When you have chuckleheads like O'reilly and Hannity and Colmes, how can anyone comedy show compete

Anyone criticizing this program from the left or praising it from the right has no idea what makes good comedy. The fact is, I don't really give a damn what somethings political slant is if it's entertaining. I consider myself progressive, but Ted Nugent rocks (especially with the Amboy Dukes), and Charlton Heston was a great, great actor (anyone disputing that, tell me, who Anyone criticizing this program from the left or praising it from the right has no idea what makes good comedy. I consider myself progressive, but Ted Nugent rocks (especially with the Amboy Dukes), and Charlton Heston was a great, great actor (anyone disputing that, tell me, who else could've played Moses?). "The 1/2-Hour News Hour" doesn't suck because it's a rightist show; it sucks because it's not funny. The Marion Barry joke, which was the funniest point of the Rip Obama segment, is a stale one. The rest of it just wasn't funny. "B.O.?" Really? Is that the best conservatives can do for comedy? I think not. Look, there are insanely talented conservatives out there, funny ones who deserve just as much recognition as anybody on the leftist front. Trey Parker and Matt Stone of "South Park," for example, are middle-rightists, if you pay attention to that sort of thing; but the difference between them, the real comic geniuses, and the hacks putting on this ridiculous display is that Parker and Stone are too funny to get caught up in partisan crap. They're not looking to win approval from a certain segment of society. As for those of you criticizing "The Daily Show" as "too liberal," I ask you, have you watched the show? I'll grant you that Jon Stewart is a liberal himself, but he would've been off the air years ago if he weren't funny. The fact is, the man's hilarious, as are the other writers and "anchors" on the show. Similarly, Stephen Colbert is a near-genius comic mastermind who channels both Bill O'Reilly and Keith Olbermann in one of the funniest pairings I can think of. See, that's what makes comedy funny: the ability to, y'know, BE FUNNY. I'd watch "The 1/2-Hour News Hour" again if it actually had something funny going on, but frankly, I don't need my ear jawed off by commentators who will do nothing but make fun of liberals the entire time. At least "The Daily Show" takes pot-shots at both sides. Expand

Realizing that Fox News is losing viewership at its fastest rate ever, Rupert Murdoch is desperately flailing around and grasping at whatever he can to save his laughable "Fair and Balanced" network. The nasty by-product of this feeble attempt is the "1/2 Hour News Hour," a trainwreck of a show. I am a paleoconservative, and do not find this funny in the slightest.

Are Republicans really this stupid? I watched the March 4th show a few minutes ago, and I'm stunned at how unprofessional and unfunny it was. How did the guy working the laugh track know when to turn it on? By the way, great timing having Ann Coulter on. Again, are Republicans really that stupid? Yes, they are.
