DamienFeb 21, 2007Bathroom humor just isn't funny. Nice how they added a canned laugh track to it. Awful, just awful.

-
ChefClarkFeb 21, 2007To effectively review this show, you need to observe it with a politically-neutral viewpoint. To review this show on comedic merit, it is absolutely horrible. Its structure of set-up, punchline, set-up, punchline, combined with its poor sketch acting and a LAUGH TRACK creates a dismal production that should never have even made it to a pilot episode.

Mr.HankeyFeb 23, 2007The worst show of all time... The 1/2 Hour News Hour is a pathetic attempt at a republican version of the Daily Show. Remember Fox is the channel that brought us (the viewers) many shows uninteresting shows like the OC and American Dad. Don't Watch this, It's just sick. Everyone should loathe it.

JoeHFeb 24, 2007that sucked

-
KevinBFeb 24, 2007Any 10 on here proves the long-known belief that conservatives have no sense of humor. Or that no matter how positively bad someone or something is, if it is presented by some right-wing blowhard, THEN IT'S AWESOME! All politicians suck and so do the people who worship them!

casiocrisFeb 25, 2007lacking.

-
Freeman420Feb 25, 2007This show is so horrible! The Daily Show criticizes both the LEFT AND RIGHT. This show just attacks anything left leaning with no humor whatsoever! The 1/2 Hour News Hour uses a laugh track(obviously), while The Daily Show uses their live audience who actually laugh because Jon Stewart is hilarious!

SteveFeb 26, 2007The US has sent some great comedy shows across the pond over the years, but this isn't one of them. You could just see the writers trying to think of ways to satirise people who aren't in power. I can't believe my Tivo thinks I might want this show saved next time.

-
davefFeb 26, 2007This show is no different than I hear on a daily basis on talk radio. America is a two party system, it pains me to hear attacks on either party. It aids our enemies.
-
-
GregMFeb 27, 2007Real humor is about exposing the absurdities of modern life and confronting uncomfortable cultural truths and trends. Modern American "conservatism" is about spewing absurd anachronistic babble with a straight face and redefining "truth" until it is devoid of any meaning whatsoever. Genuine "humor" is not compatible with the ideology of the New Right. PS: This show sucks.

PedroVMar 1, 2007Boy that was rough. Were they trying to be that bad? Was that the joke and I missed it? I felt like I was back in middle school watching the A/V kids do the school news. Fox should stick to what it does best, lie and bully the American masses. Wow, that was bad. Brought to you by the Republican party, home of rich people and rednecks!

StewartkMar 12, 2007I wish I could give this one a minus rating. It's hard to tell the difference between this show and regular Fox News Programming. Actually, there is a big difference. Regular Fox News is much funnier. When you have chuckleheads like O'reilly and Hannity and Colmes, how can anyone comedy show compete

allancMar 28, 2007Absolute garbage. Worst 30 minutes on television, Ive seen infomercials that have been funnier.
-
-
MattKMar 3, 2007Realizing that Fox News is losing viewership at its fastest rate ever, Rupert Murdoch is desperately flailing around and grasping at whatever he can to save his laughable "Fair and Balanced" network. The nasty by-product of this feeble attempt is the "1/2 Hour News Hour," a trainwreck of a show. I am a paleoconservative, and do not find this funny in the slightest.

DaveBMar 4, 2007Are Republicans really this stupid? I watched the March 4th show a few minutes ago, and I'm stunned at how unprofessional and unfunny it was. How did the guy working the laugh track know when to turn it on? By the way, great timing having Ann Coulter on. Again, are Republicans really that stupid? Yes, they are.

-
-
MarkMar 7, 2007It's as if Stalin in the 1950's tried to do a comedy show. It's scary to see just how hard these self-righteous, dogmatic, intolerant conservatives try to be funny.

RobertoVApr 29, 2007I just didn't think it was funny. Although I agree with the absurdity in the segment on American Civil Liberties Union, there was no punch line at the end.

-
BobRMay 13, 2007Absolute 0... I like watching FOX news, it's entertaining to see those lackies blab on about subjects they know nothing about, but this... Absolute garbage. And for the record, Stewart and Colbert may lean left, but this show is outright Conservative and heavy handed.

PhilT.Jun 10, 2007Who would have thought intolerance could be so funny! Except they have a broad on the show; if they were REAL conservatives, they'd only let white guys be the anchors.

EricC.Jun 24, 2007I hear the show didn't cut it and going off the air ... for obvious reasons ... it's NOT funny.

-
bobd.Aug 14, 2007I actually work on 24. Now, the next time I see Joel my smirk will will extra smirky. And let me point out again that perhaps a supposedly Fair and Balanced straight news channel isn't the appropriate place for and ideological comedy show. Or, at the very least it's REDUNDANT.

-
NicholasClemensAug 2, 2007A right wing satire is not nessesarily a bad thing, but the show isn't even funny! The jocks are all predictable and unoriginal, and putting fictional news on a 24 hour news chanel, while not exactly new, is disgusting.
-

SteveHAug 5, 2007No laugh track needed... http://youtube.com/watch?v=CJEeyLeqJHc
-
-
SaraFeb 17, 2007The president skit looked more like a parody of conservative thought processes. "Well, after two years of a democratic congress, the economy is in ruins and we're internationally hated, but luckily, the conservatives are back in charge." Unlike, you know, how things are after six years of a Republican one. Seriously, who thought that was a good idea?

JudS.Feb 19, 2007Hahaha. Yet another indication this "news" network is just trying to find shows that get ratings, despite the lack of journalism. Fox is just a horrible, terrible, awful channel.

MatthewMFeb 19, 2007Satire requires deflating power - hard to do when you are part of that power. Pretty dull stuff.
-

MyraTFeb 19, 2007Stale, predictable, about as subtle as a sledgehammer, with nasty intolerant undertones. In other words typical right wing "humor."
-

KlarthLFeb 19, 2007Awful... so awful.
-
-
JayWFeb 21, 2007between the obvious canned laughter and the overly kinetic "news anchors", this was a piss poor take-off on the very good Daily Show with John Stewart. Do Conservatives just not have a funny bone because this was a real disappointment.
-
-
DanS.Feb 21, 2007Look, it's not that it's conservative. The Daily Show uses wit and irony to blast its targets. The 1/2 Hr. News Hr. uses the snide bullying of an 8th grader. The difference is huge.
-

ArneFFeb 21, 2007A program that needs a laugh track to tell everybody when it's supposed to be funny. Well, it's certainly not funny, let alone accurate. Pure dribble.

BenjaminPFeb 23, 2007Couldn't believe it, though I was seeing it. Like an old "Little Rascals" skit, but everyone's on darvocet, reliving childhood trauma.

-
AndrewGFeb 23, 2007This is abysmal. I truly was hoping for a worthy competitor to the Daily Show, but for all the conservatives pretending that the Daily Show's liberal, John Stewart et al. skewers Obama with greater skill and humor in one line than this show did with an entire sequence. It's not that it's conservative. It's just that it's weak.
-
-
eroclFeb 25, 2007absolutely not worth the time spent
-
-
ChrisDFeb 28, 2007I've only seen a small clip, but it's enough to show how force this show is. The humor is really bad and the audience sounds really forced (reminds me a bit of the America's Funniest Home Videos audience). You don't have to be Democrat to love the Daily Show, but it doesn't matter which party you are for this one: it sucks on both ends.

ChristianW.May 28, 2007Oh. wow....ouch. Yeah, that's about the clearest and most direct route to not funny I think I've seen. Forget even the content.....delivery....timing....bad Charles in Charge laughtrack...crap fox news graphics and lame cameos by radio personalities........it's still not funny. regular fox news shows like the beltway boys and bill o'reilly is ten times more hysterical.

-
GinnaRJun 12, 2007This was absolute crap! What a train wreck. I've watched Fox News for years but this makes me want to find another channel and makes me not take any of their real reporting seriously. The Daily Show and Colbert report in my view also suck but they are on Comedy Central. This crappy show doesn't belong on a Cable News Channel or on TV for that matter. Its pure torture to watch.
-
-
MattPJun 12, 2007I watched it with a self-professed moderate recently, who told me it made him ashamed to vote Republican. It serves to remind everyone else what a great job other shows can do night after night and week after week when actual comedy writers are used in the production of a show.

Mar 26, 2014This show truly was terrible. Not even Fox's loyal audience you stomach it. That it made 17 episodes is a testament to the programming directors stubbornly unrealistic sense of optimism that an audience could be found for this tripe. It made New Coke look like a good idea.

A look at the first episode suggests that, just as A.M. radio is the unassailable province of the right, TV might better be left to the left.
