That is, if you can get trough the pilot, which is very silly and uninspiring, but the remaining 70+ episodes are fantastic. This is much better than the other way around, as I'm sure you will agree. True, the science elements are silly (basic Newton's laws don't hold in the descent scene in the pilot), but science elements are a very minor part of the show's content. It's more of a rich fantasy with great plot and imagination. Expand

Maybe not in terms of storyline development (obviously), but in giving you a sense of what the show is about and the potential it has, and most importantly, it's the deciding factor in whether you're going to carry on watching it or not. This show's pilot absolutely sucks. I pretty much hated every single character, whether they were supposed to be the protagonist or antagonist of the story. Every single main character in this show is annoying. I tried watching beyond the pilot, but it's all the same. Poor character development, poor dialogue (the dialogue is cheesy as all hell) weigh what otherwise seems like a decent show down. Not worth even giving it a try unless you literally have nothing else to watch/do Expand

Clarke Griffin 'Wanheda' is by far the most revolting, delusional and selfish person i've ever seen in a tv show or movie. She repeatedly gets people killed instead of saving them, and has the audacity to pretend that she's doing it for others. This character is a walking contradiction and dangerous to everyone around her.

In this season the world is threatened by Primfaya, which is a green wave of radioactive... something? After four years of filming clearly no one on the production team has ever googled how radioactive energy or particles, as every representation in this show has been fictional and not realistic. As Primfaya is coming, people are murdering each other even more for silly reasons, and in the end it barely matters.

I could go on about how the writing is juvenile, cheap and pretentious, but that would imply that this is a show that should be taking seriously. If you take it with a big grain of salt there is entertainment value, especially after a day of work. At that point it will only aggravate you every time Clarke Griffin enter the screen.

I give it a 6/10. It's an average season of an average show.

One of the best show that I've ever seen of my life.
I watched all seasons since it was started. This show has all masterpiece's component for the best position of modern shows:
- every season has ended one story (like one big chapter of book);
- it has many drama, difficult moral decisions and evolution all main characters;
- brilliant mix of real vision on post-apocaliptic world with older traditions and technology;
- grammatical ending of every season that holds your attention and interest in looking beyond the show.

---Spoiler---
However, I scare that this show could be roll down, because 5 season - it is only 1 book of "100" cycle. And I don't want this show to roll like Supernatural in the future and lose his an original idea

Your plot can’t be something that hasn’t been given critical thought. The writing in this show is some the worst I have ever seen, but I keep watching because it is entertaining. I’m invested in 2 characters despite the horrendous dialogue they have to work with, so I guess I have to give the show runners props for that. Ultimately, I wouldn’t recommend this to anybody who enjoys quality entertainment. However, if you can avoid being critical and just accept the embarrassingly bad writing of this show, then you can find some enjoyment from it. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Unlike Rotten Tomatoes, I can write the review for the entire series here. This is the most disappointing show I have ever seen start to finish. It's a sci-fi genre, yet they barely play into that at all, and play into teen drama instead. We're revisiting a world that went through radiation. They teased a giant ape, a giant fish thing, and a deer, only to never see another animal again. Seriously, what gives? Did you run out of budget for more CGI monsters? How come there were so little animals or creatures of any kind for the rest of the series? Do the writers even know why people watch sci-fi? Also, sci-fi is generally far fetched, but this borders on pure fantasy nonsense about halfway through the series. We want more scary radiated animals and monsters; we want more sci-fi based elements; we want less fantasy nonsense; and we want less teen drama. The plot made little sense, sending in delinquents to a planet we didn't even know was safe, but there were many cool plot elements that kept me in, however they disappointed because the writers don't understand how to appeal to fans of sci-fi. This was completely disappointing through and through. It's like the writers also forgot they added things. The writing and characters grew worse and worse, and the acting became so unbearable. This is easily the series I regret watching the most. Absolutely garbage. It's a teen drama dressed in sci-fi clothes. Expand

At that point it became clear that the diverse characters, though numerous, were simply there to prop up the Character development of the White lead(s). In particular Clarke, though to a lesser extent Murphy and Octavia.
Additionally, it’s the White lead(s), grossly in particular Clarke, though again to a lesser extent Murphy and Octavia, who enjoy the pleasure of being able to commit the most horrific offenses, without any real consequences, and then get significant screen time to redevelop their character to endear themselves to the audience. This ensures the casual observer does not eviscerate them in the arena of public opinion. Thus, we ultimately feel sorry for the White character, and love them even more. This is the tried and true, though very tiring, trope of Hollywood programming Today. The SIGNIFICANT support from any and all diverse characters placates the masses further, yet still checks the diversity box for the program. At one time I thought, ‘well at least there is SOME diversity in the programming’. Until you realize it’s just a bread crumb from programming starved of true diversity representation. Save for too few nearly all-diverse casts. Note this is certainly not relegated to T.V. programming, but the big screen as well. (Here’s looking at you Spider-Man.)
While initially so excited to watch after seeing the representation. Especially with so many notable and celebrated diverse characters. But after watching each and every one, either be killed, or turned into horrific evil monsters before being killed. It appears nothing more than a bait and switch of diverse story telling.
In a NUTSHELL, the White Savior complex, and now the diverse SUPPORT of that character, is alive and well Today, and has been since the dawn of American programming… When will it end, or at least give way to a DIVERSE Savior complex??!?
