    A show that at times awkwardly seeks to contemporize and contextualize the material while still offering basic thrills of the busting-down-doors variety.

    With its characters at once thin and broad; its L.A. backdrop; and its mix of existential philosophizing, social commentary and corny representations of hot-button issues, “S.W.A.T.” also recalls and has some of the appeal of Jack Webb’s classic "Dragnet," but with a more progressive outlook and a sprinkling of sex scenes.

    Give them credit for trying a different take on cop shows, but S.W.A.T. simply falls flat in every conceivable way.

    The new S.W.A.T. has become something other than a cops-versus-bad-guys drama. Now it’s an hour spent in awe of its star, Shemar Moore.

    This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Horrible! First scene--Arabic speaking terrorists w lrg cache of weapons! 5 member SWAT called. Uh no! I’m married to a SWAT officer...need about 4 squads to secure perimeter! They are in a residential neighborhood that OF COURSE is black. As soon as I saw a kid I thought-HOSTAGE situation where Shemar will carry a black child to safety. I turned it off the second that the “terrorists” escaped out the back. Gee no criminal EVER tries to escape out the back!

    Older white leader, black muscled up guy, woman. Oh heavens--“diversity.” Women are RARE on SWAT.

The smart A## kid speeding to work would most likely be fired and would never be allowed on a disciplined unit like SWAT. The series does them a disservice!!!!! Liberals aren't vary smart, why expect them to make an intelligent show. A unit of special forces solders get taken down by some lowly cops, even if they are swat.. ya that's guna happen. Like it was nothing lol. Cop cars get rpg'd cops walk away no problem? dead?!? naaa are you kidding? we cant have that lol. Who cares about realism any way right? Those are just two parts, of a completely unrealistic and poorly thought out, or should I say not thought out show.… Full Review »
