The final season of Suits is fantastic. This show has had ebbs and flows over the years - never having a bad season but certainly having its challenged to find a new fight that was not only worth fighting, but making audiences believe that it's worth their time to care. That's all handled by Faye Richards - the show's greatest villain since Daniel Hardman. While the emotions are high and the blood is boiling, this final season also finds ample time to cash in on a little nostalgia and happiness. Suits lasted 9 seasons and the fact that this final season feels like one of the absolute best in the entire series shows that the network cared even as things were wrapping up and your audience is likely going to watch what's there regardless of whether it's great or not speaks volumes to USA. They absolutely got this one right (take notes, HBO) and in the show's final 47 minutes I felt like I was feeling everything the characters were feeling as feelings fly off the handle and characters find their moment to ride off into the sunset. I wasn't sure that this show had a bright future or not once Mike and Rachel Ross left the picture. It did struggle initially to find its footing but all I can say is that Suits found its center before long and I had almost forgotten about the family that was in the first several seasons after embracing the family that is in the show's final few seasons. I loved season 9 and while I was a little let down by it only having 10 episodes instead of the standard 16, I'm not sure there needed to be another 6 episodes to tell the stories that were. Perhaps my only real critique is the showdown with Faye Richards, while well written and executed in the show's final episode, bordered on being "resolved" with a feeling of haste instead of letting it take center stage for a bigger chunk of the episode. But I didn't feel like it mattered because there were other stories to latch on to and in order to get that "ride off into the sunset" feeling, you gotta take your time and that's why I didn't feel like the somewhat speedy wrap of Faye's storyline was a detriment to the final episode and the season as a whole. If you've been watching Suits for as long as its been around you must invest in the final season. The show's finale is a clinic on how to wrap up a series without phoning it all in.… Expand
