    Another brilliant, A+ show from Netflix. You can tell it was made with love. Likeable characters, great actors and some genuinely frightening scenes, all wrapped up in 80's nostalgia.

    If you want to watch something entertaining and powerful, this is the show for you. A great direction and cast makes this love letter to the 80s a wonderful series to watch. I can only recommend everyone, even those not fans of the genre, to support this great creation.

    If your idea of a good show is Spongebob Squarepants, or your favorite movie is Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, then WARNING! Do not watch this!
    Everyone else, on the other hand, should watch this and have a great time. Awesome Show. It's not "Game of Thrones" awesome, but it's just a darn good time from start to finish.

    I have to say I have been loving the quality of some of the recent TV series. It seems that Stranger Things has been crafted with a lot of love for the genre and story. The character interactions for the most part are right on and believable for the time. Juliette Lewis tends to annoy me but she is passable with most other characters being very good in their roles. The editing of the episodes is first rate. You will be hooked by the first ep or so and cant wait to see the next episode if you are like me. I like how the stupid boyfriend is not your usual one note dummy but he is shown evolving into a more complex role than most one note tv written young males - very nuanced and well done IMHO. And that is just one example, the rest of the characters in the series inhabit their roles with ease and ring true in the way they act. There are suspense elements that are almost dare I call on the trope legend Hitchcockian in their well done pacing. I find horror movies that transmit dread to be some of the better ones as anyone can do lots of fake blood and STs pulls this technique off brilliantly. There will be times you wont know exactly what direction the series is going and that is a sign of good mystery so lots of good film making techniques go into this first rate production. Treasure this series as it is an unusual tv gem that will certainly grow on you.… Expand

    It is quite difficult to describe how spectacular this series is in words, really. There are so many nods to other great sci-fi series and movies, but instead of just referencing them, they weave them in such a wonderful, magical way to tell a wonderful central story, weaving in several subplots along the way that make the series feel so vital and new.     From the first episode, there was an addictive intensity but also an attractive lightness to this show that quickly wrapped me tightly in its old-school charm with its brand new take. From cinematography to SFX, there was never a moment that took me out of the pulse of this show and not one character that didn't add to the whole.     This show is really a "one in a million" kind of show. While watching this show, I felt apart the their world. I went on a journey with cast. Aside from all the wonder, this show proves that nostalgia does not mean reboot.

    It teeters on the fine line of plagiarism and inspiration. For the most part, all the inspired motifs and themes from Spielberg and King are to the betterment of the show. If you're going to judge it on it's inspirations and claim that it's borrowing too much, then you're going to hate the show. Due to great internet popularity(and overall greatness!), we can already call it an instant cult classic.

    The series, which gets its inspiration from 80s fantasy and horror film(and book) hitmakers like John Carpenter, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Stephen King is set in a fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana. On the surface, the premise seems simple(ish) and quite familiar. A group of young friends battle a big monster, which is a result of conspiracy-like military experiments. But the show is much much more.

    Stranger Things starts immediately, with the cold open. It features series' main plot device - mysterious disappearance of Will Byers. Ever since then, the story has been fast moving, interesting, but at the same time just enough careful to explore the characters(and their development). It follows different people, whose storylines become combined in the end.

    The show benefits from great performances. On the one hand, we have an experienced, older cast members(Winona Ryder's performance as a single mother who is trying(despite everyone and everything against her) her best to find her missing son is deep and equally amusing, David Harbour is there as a anti-pole to Ryder's character, as a warm, but calm police chief) and on the other, we have less-experienced cast, who all gave a moving and original performances(especially Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard, whose chemistry is special, to say the least)
    .
    Though not renewed(yet)-I wonder what would the show do for its sophomore season. It left itself an open door to continue the same story, on the other hand, the Hawkins storyline seems to be(at least for now) concluded.

    However, that does not really matter. Stranger Things is more than just a great refreshing summer watch, its a deep and meaningful series, which deserves wide(r) recognition    … Expand

    One word: Nostalgia. It takes me back to the 80s and i love it. Back when kids communicate trough walkie-talkies and not smart phones and when we went biking trough the woods with friends, not search for a Pokemon on your own. It's a good story and I enjoyed it. It had everything the classic sci-fi/horror movies used to have.

    The acting, the cinematography, the writing and pacing, the directing, and the killer music are all the key qualities of this short, sweet, amazingly produced love letter to the timeless sci-fi and mysteries of the 70's and 80's. Do yourself a favor, it's not a long show. Just bloody watch it.

    Best show ever. Everything about this show is amazing: the cast, the Duffer Brothers, the score, the story, the 80s nostalgia. It is fantastic; the kids were great, and the combination of mystery, horror, adventure, comedy, romance, and grief is perfect. I really enjoyed the show so much.

    Perfection. Capturing everything that was great about film in the 80's. Stunning visually... like it stepped out of time. This is great story-telling. Completely engaging from the opening scene to the ending credits.

    Ambitious and excellent. And a great blast of nostalgia for anyone who grew up in the '80's. Completely binge-worthy; fingers-crossed for a sequel. Great casting, movie-caliber cinematography.

    One of the best tv shows I've seen. It really is "must see tv". The story is great, the acting is great, from both kids and adults and the series duration (8 episodes for Season 1) is just right.

    Ugh! I LOVE this show! Watching it for the second time as I write this. The acting in this show is superb and I'm blown away with how awesome it's filmed. I recommend this show to EVERYONE! One of my favorite shows!!!!

    This show was an absolute hit at our home. Our family loves science fiction movies. We also love to be scared. With two adults, a fifteen year old who isn’t impressed by anything and a 10 year old who will watch any scary thing you put in front of her (think X Files or My Haunted House) this show had all of us hooked by the end of the first episode. We were just so excited to see WinonaThis show was an absolute hit at our home. Our family loves science fiction movies. We also love to be scared.     Flawless. The acting is great, from everyone. The story is scary, emotional, hopeful, compelling. The writing is accurate and feels real. The music is fantastic and feels perfect for the times (80's). I thought The Night Of was good, then I watched this. The Night Of can't even touch Stranger Things.

    This show is perfect for watching in autumn, as leaves start to fall and Halloween is approaching. The atmosphere of the show is comfortable and cozy, but still spooky. Modern but still vintage.
    The special effects (such as the monster) are not overdone to the point they become extremely unrealistic. I feel like the makers found the perfect balance for it all.     The show was ok. I did not find it as amazing as everybody is saying it to be. Heavily inspired from other shows like Fringe. I was a bit disappointed when I watched the first episode as I had assumed it to be a horror show which isn't.

    But that being said, I liked the way character were portrayed and the pace at which story progresses. It nicely wraps up the things at the end.

    Let me go all caps on this... I LOVE IT! 10/10 all in. Excellent setting, location, cast, visuals, and not to mention the kids have amazing character arcs. This season doesn't only give you horror sci-fi but makes you understand childhood friendship.

    Fine history, perfectly given plot and good acting. Excellent story about friendship of teenagers and eccentric woman. Action looks live and captures literally you. It is impossible to come off. Perhaps the best series of Netflix in 2016.

    I really did love this show! It kept me thinking and wanting to know more, at first I was confused on what was going on. I highly think they need to make more seasons and make it a big series. I want to watch more.

    I am a 15-year-old teenager and had no idea on how the TV shows were in the 80's, and this show got me totally into it. I loved the format and the concepts that are presented in this show, such as the "upside down dimension" totally blew my mind. The cast proves to be future promises for the industry, and I kind of had a special curiosity of the behind the scenes. Therefore, StrangerI am a 15-year-old teenager and had no idea on how the TV shows were in the 80's, and this show got me totally into it. I loved the format and the concepts that are presented in this show, such as the "upside down dimension" totally blew my mind. I really love the characters, especially Eleven and Mike. It may start off boring, but KEEP WATCHING TILL THE END OF EPISODE 1! That's the moment it gets good. It's hard to just watch ONE episode, I need to at least watch 3 episodes because itIt's hard to not like this show. It is always suspenseful. After looking for their missing friend they come across a Girl ,who they call Eleven because of her tattoo. However they soon find out this isn’t any ordinary girl but one with very special powers. It is very clear the show takes lot of inspiration from classics 80’s films like The goonies and ET.

    The performances from all of the cast are great especially the child actors ,who show the right amount of charisma and banter you aspect from kids growing up in the 80’s. However, the star of the show here is definitely Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown) who plays the ET type of role in show. Millie’s brilliant acting skills have a lasting effect on the viewer even though she has 42 words throughout the whole series.

    The Duffer Brothers brilliant writing and directing skills play with your emotions to create a love letter to all those 80’s horror films. Its truly something special!

Child actors can make or break a show, and the actors in Stranger Things knocked it out of the park. Combine that with stellar writing, filming, and special effects and I can't think of a single negative thing to say... well, except I wanted Jonathon and Nancy to happen, but hey, there's a season 2 so there is still hope! This show sucks you in, and I can honestly say it has something for everyone.… Expand

    The drama and Horror could be better in this TV Show but in the end its a very solid one. Some characters could be better with only Mike, Eleven and Chief impressing me. Although, each episode makes you wanna watch more because of its interesting story and suspense.

    La historia, la ambientación, los personajes, los dialogos, la fotografia, todo en esta temporada fue casi perfecto, la disfrute muchisimo, la vi en apenas unos días y a pesar que algun episodio me parecio tonto y forzado (ep. 5) el resto me convenció al 100% a lo mejor quitando el final en si que no me gustó demasiado.

Tudo é ruim?     I got to tell you, Stranger Things is one hell of an awesome ride since I've watched the movie Super 8 for the first time back then. There's no spoilers, so you're good. I must say, in my opinion, this show felt like Super 8 but it's more thrilling than Super 8, but it's very entertaining. I recommend you guys to watch it if you have not seen it yet. :)

    A favorite of offbeat sci-fi loving people. Great cast of interesting characters. Well scripted and engaging. Took a few shows to get hooked, but looking forward to next season!

    Simplemente fantástica. La trama te engancha desde el primer capitulo hasta el ultimo y no hay ningún tipo de "relleno", todos los capítulos son muy directos y muy frenéticos. La guinda es el gran final tan abierto que deja la serie en el ultimo capitulo.

But, as the show progresses, it becomes more and more like a twisted Stephen King story set in a Spielberg movie.     MAGIC. That's the word that suits better to this TV show. All have that 80 feeling, the story, the music, the art, the photo, the characters, the bad guys... it's a tv show made with lots of talent for people that love cinema.

    Not perfect and not likely to win awards, but it is well-crafted, thrilling, and really does take you back to feel the nostalgia of the 80's classic vibe really well. BTBR is incredible if you can suss out the story on your own instead of being spoonfed). Some of the acting is a bit over-the-top and occasionally unintentionally funny, but I can overlook those flaws. For the most part the series has had me eager to watch all eight episodes as quickly as possible. It doesn't feel like a rip-off. It does feel like a loving echo of past classics pulled together in mosaic respect. As of now, my only feeling is that it doesn't necessarily offer much we haven't seen before, but offers it to us in an exciting, vintage fashion. I am about to press play on the final episode. This has been a fun rollercoaster ride. I am hoping for a second season. The creators, etc have already stated that season 2 will be more of a sequel cousin than a direct continuation of Season 1. We shall see. One strength is that there aren't alot of big name actors/actresses here so it really lends to the feeling of this being everyday folks experiencing an usual disturbance in their small town. The writing, story, and originality was phenomenal, the writing was also very emotional touching, heartbreaking, and impactful. The humor was hilarious, super natural feeling, and it really fit into the story perfectly. The acting was exceptional especially from Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Caleb McLaughlin, Shannon Purser, Joe Chrest, and Noah Schnapp. The characterization was outstanding. The makeup and hairstyling was stupendous especially on Millie Bobby Brown, Cara Buono, Shannon Purser, Winona Ryder, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Gaten Matarazzo, Charlie Heaton, and David Harbour. The visual effects were spectacular and extremely scary, creep, frightening, and awesome. I loved the 1980's theme and homage to 80's pop culture. The soundtrack and opening theme was excellent. The costumes were terrific especially the ones that Millie Bobby Brown, Shannon Purser, Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, and David Harbour wore.     I remember watching the first few episodes of this show a few days after it came out while I was trying to find something to watch on netflix. When i first saw this show, I will admit that I did not care for it. I stopped watching at episode 3 and felt that it did not live up to its hype.

    Fast forward to over a year when the second season of ST is released, I decided to give it another chance and watch it from episode 1 again. I can proudly say that I am so grateful that I chose to rewatch the series. I absolutely love this show now, even though I've only been a fan of it for about a month now. The characters, especially Eleven, are amazing. It is full of heartwarming, tear-jerking, and shocking moments that will leave your eyes glued to the TV. Stranger Things has definitely lived up to its hype, and it also renewed my faith in child actors.

    If anybody who hasn't seen the show has an off day coming up with no plans, reward yourself by watching this 8 episode masterpiece. You won't regret it, I promise.    … Expand

    It could be said it is a well done mix of all the pop culture we loved in the 80´s. But for me is far more than that. The acting, the visuals, the music, the story, this is a well crafted creative effort made by the rising stars, The Duffer Brothers. Netflix's best original series by a whole lot. Powerful. Stunning. Thrilling.

    Stranger Things is a fantastic show that has great characters, a great setting that is nostalgic without taking away from the plot, and mysteries that will keep you wondering. It's short 8 episode season allows for a very condensed plot that always keeps things moving. The supernatural mixing with the real world is a great premise.

    The show is about a boy named Will who got lost in the woods, atleast we think so.
    The mystery behind the lab and the characters and their developments over the show feel natural and as realistic as it can be. One of the best shows on Netflix.

    What is there to hate about Stranger Things? I mean sure there are plot holes, some bad jokes, Episode 7 of Season 2, but besides that, I have no idea. The child acting plus the amazing FX just make it perfect.

    La 2a temporada, desde mi perspectiva, se vio un poco menos tensa que la anterior, parece que los personajes han completado su desarrollo, sin embargo, si el propósito de la serie era forjar la inseguridad, no se ve tan potenciada en los capítulos anteriores a el glorioso final, si tuviera que darle una calificación a las temporadas individuales, le daría un 9.7 a la 2a y a la primera un 10, sin embargo no es una temporada con cosas vituperables, se desarrolla de una manera estable y desarrolla de manera espectacular a will, dando a vislumbrar el empeño d los creadores en reflejar los problemas del estrés traumatismo y creando a uno de los personajes mas misteriosos y temidos de la serie, el desolla mentes.

    Staranger things en verdades una serie que vale la pena, como un buen disco, merece ser vista y siendo un buen concepto para expandir, no es una serie de mas de 4 temporadas, como debe aprender a abstenerse de la escasez de ideas para arruinar a la serie como los simpson etc.

Sin tener mucho, consiguen hacer que sea muy interesante y que el espectador esté pendiente de si podrán encontrar o no a Will. I like the whole sci-fi scenario set in the 80's where sci-fi was popular and they picked the right decade to set it in. Even though it has the whole cliche of "US government making secret weapon in a secret lab" and "US making secret weapon to fight commies", They did well to makeDefinitely worth watching. I like the whole sci-fi scenario set in the 80's where sci-fi was popular and they picked the right decade to set it in. Even though it has the whole cliche of "US government making secret weapon in a secret lab" and "US making secret weapon to fight commies", They did well to make it different from other movies and shows who have set a similar scenario and whilst that was one of the focuses, it wasn't the only main focus in the show and the focused on the character development which I liked very much in this season.

    If you thought Harry Potter would've at least been watchable had he developed a blow habit then you'll probably strongly dislike Stranger Things.

    Stranger things is a series that i personally think it could control my feelings the way it wanted. It could make me excited , happy , sad, etc . And it never was boring to me , i mean , it is entertaining every moment . It also has one of the most powerful stories. Just perfect.

    Stranger Things season 1 has no sense of direction, which is what one might think at once. While that may sound as a negative, it looks like a positive to me. The audience knows absolutely nothing about what is going to happen, until it is revealed and they are full of shock. Packed with emotion and most importantly, mystery, Stranger Things Season 1 is the epitome of mystery TV at its finest.
