The final season of the show. It was satisfying and delivered an end that I enjoyed. The story was continued in books where they developed the story and solve some loose ends. Like before the second half is a bit weaker and they set up things I want to see continued like the race revealed in “The Lost Tribe”, the character Kiryk with his daughter or the fallout of the new queen and “Daedalus Variations” to name a few. Like I said a strength of the Stargate show (and spin off) is the set up of characters and arcs. Many things will be build up and have impacts or developments in later seasons or were prepared in previous seasons to unfold. Also it is important to deliver an end of a show that is satisfying. While not perfect or awesome it is good enough for me. My favourite episodes in season 5 are: “Search and Rescue” makes it barely in the list. I liked it at first but the more I think about it the more foreseeable and generic it seemed. However it is entertaining and solves the cliffhanger. “Broken Ties” for the idea, Ronon and Tyre and conclusion. It makes also sense to use Ronons strength (or stamina?) against him like that. “The Daedalus Variations” is a what if episode inside an actual episode. Has nice reveals and I would have liked to see the developments out of this. “Ghost in the Machine” (Ghost in the Shell could not be used;-) for the return of a great character, the dilemma and conclusion which is also shocking but foreseeable. “The Queen” for Todd, the plots, Teyla and conclusion that could be used for follow ups. “Tracker” for Kiryk that could be a discount of another character but works well and the whole situation. Another arc I think they wanted to continue. “First Contact” and “The Lost Tribe” deal with a hidden secret, a new player in the game, idea for the device and conclusion. “Inquisition” for the politics, schemes and Woolsey. Finally “Enemy at the Gate” delivers a great final in a race to save the day. Satisfying end to the season. For the shoe it seems they hoped to get another season as I see some set ups for later. Could be wrong about this. Overall the final season was fine for me. Again the second half is a bit weaker but it totl not awful. Give a 7/10.… Expand
