Their mission: to investigate the secrets of Atlantis, a city now known to have been built by ancient powerful beings, and bring whatever they discover back to Earth. They will be all on their own, with no means to return, with no means of rescue or support, unless they can find the technology they need in Atlantis to return them to Earth. Once in Atlantis, the group finds the city abandoned; asleep for tens of thousands of years, and no power source left for a return home. They must find a power source within Atlantis' own Pegasus galaxy using the same Stargate system that got them there or they will be stranded forever. On the first planet they visit, they accidentally waken a new, powerful, and more evil enemy than human kind has ever faced, the Wraith. And the Wraith are hungry – for humans!
Follow the extraordinary adventures of an SGA team lead by Major John Sheppard (played by actor Joe Flanigan), and his team made up by his second in command Lt. Aiden Ford (played by actor Rainbow Sun Francks), and the Astrophysicist/Scientist Dr. Rodney McKay (played by actor David Hewlett, reprising the role he played in Stargate SG-1). Joining the team will be Teyla Emmagan (played by actress Rachel Luttrell), a beautiful, exotic, and strong-willed woman from the Pegasus galaxy. … Expand

Not as impressive as the previous season, but still awesome.

It feels like they ran out of ideas. The threat has gone down and "new" things have to come up. There are a lot of similarities between this season and SG-1; not much innovative things. This third season also got some really badNot as impressive as the previous season, but still awesome.

It feels like they ran out of ideas. The threat has gone down and "new" things have to come up. There are a lot of similarities between this season and SG-1; not much innovative things. This third season also got some really bad episodes in the beginning, and the classic Stargate Atlantis "we need to tell everything to the audience" is even stronger. But there are much positivity. Great character development and a freaking awesome ending is the best aspects.

Yes it's not as innovative as SG-1, but this third season is still enjoyable even though many episodes are much worse than in the second season.

Season 3 delivers and has a lot of good episodes. It adds a lot with the character Todd who is fascinating, the Asurans and continues previous arcs in an interesting way. I said in my reviews that a strength of the Stargate show (and spin off) is the set up of characters and arcs. ManySeason 3 delivers and has a lot of good episodes. It adds a lot with the character Todd who is fascinating, the Asurans and continues previous arcs in an interesting way. I said in my reviews that a strength of the Stargate show (and spin off) is the set up of characters and arcs. Many things will be build up and have impacts or developments in later seasons or were prepared in previous seasons to unfold. Like the last season the first half has more great episodes. I almost picked all in my favourite episodes list. However the result is another strong season I enjoyed. My favourite episodes in season 3 are: While the season 2 final did not wow me the continuation “No Mans Land” and Misbegotten” are really good. Nice story, twists and culmination. The way they deal with Michael is stupid by the way and they deserve a bit what is coming in later seasons. Could use the character better if he joined as there was a lot of potential in this. “Sateda” deals with Ronons past and has in general a great immersive story. “Progeny” for the Asurans, the things that will develop out of this and bringing back an element from Stargate we all like. Will not deny you can see this as sheap or run out of new ideas. “Common Ground” for the character Todd who is awesome and will come back, his reveal, dire dilemma and conclusion. “Mc Kay and Mrs. Miller” for McKay, McKay (no typo) his sister and humour. Nice change in paste. “The Return part 1 and 2” is a nice story and continuation of a previous episode but also a missed opportunity (Sorry for being vague to avoid spoilers). The menace and action are good. Also the guest stars are nice. “The Game” was unexpected and interesting. Truly great concept, moral dilemma and shows that the Ancient were not that benevolent. “Sunday” for the race against time, menace and consequences. By the way I think this was another of the Ancients no benevolent ideas. “First Strike” for the Asurans, menacing thread and great cliffhanger. Overall it was a good season and I wanted more of the show. By this I rated the show as a successful spin off as 3 good seasons are undeniable valid.… Expand
