Not the worst thing ever, but by far the worst this season. If it included more worldbuilding that showed *why* this strange new world was the way it was, and if that plus the big reveal were all handled in the first half hour or so of theNot the worst thing ever, but by far the worst this season. The remainder, then, would have focused on the crew of the Enterprise agonising over how to respond to this situation, and how much Starfleet rules even matter to them in the face of their own feelings about the whole thing. Instead, the episode ended before any of that, leaving us with the implication that the crew simply accepted that the way things are is the only way they can be, and left without doing anything to try to effect change.… Expand
