Episode 2 and Capt. Picard still has not made it off the ground (literally, he still doesn't have command of a starship). Instead, Picard is held back by a Starfleet that seems to have lost so many of its traditional values that it feels like this episode takes place in the Mirror Universe. Typical of Alex Kurtzman productions, the episode features absurd dialogue and salty language that makes it less than appropriate for family viewing. While the episode begins lively enough, it peters out halfway through and by the end is just boring. Expand

Show it too slow. I get there has to be some foundation laying, but really this is just not well done. There are too many long exposition speeches given about "the past" and then some erratic behavior that doesn't fit with certainShow it too slow. Episode 1 was pretty good but this one, eesh. It mostly seemed like filler. People are asking when the show is going to start, and I can understand why. Expand
