This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This episode is fantastic!!! I loved Herbert Landon in the last episode because of his evil business-like persona and it is explored even more in this episode. His hatred of mutants, while not given a backstory or much of a motivation, feels very believable. The episode feels like a short movie as it is very well divided into 3 acts: 1st act- Herbert Landon’s conversation with the mutants and spider man exploring and investigating. 2nd act- saving the blue mutant from dying and Herbert’s deformation. 3rd act- battling Herbert in the city. The tension was extremely high in this episode and it usually isn’t in this show. The battle to save the blue mutant from being dropped into the poison kept me on the edge of my seat and Herbert being turned into a monster himself after hating them and always trying to kill them is some genius irony. The monster he turned into though is extremely disturbing for me and I am rarely scared by any creature which means the show succeeded in herbert’s transformation. There is one plot hole though: why would Herbert need to make a special poison to destroy the mutants if he could just drown them in very strong acid. I understand that it was for Herbert not to die when falling into the poison but still a plot contrivance nonetheless. But overall a wonderful episode… Expand
