Instead of showing a really badass character such as Black Widow, who has no powers, but has an extremely strong presence, or the Scarlet Witch, who has great powers, but also a very interesting personal story, they show this completely meaningless person, who by chance becomes the most powerful person in the world, even surpassing the Hulk, who has years of experience being the Hulk. I watched She Hulk week after week in the hope that the weekly cliffhanger would finally make something exciting happen.
Unfortunately far from it.
In each episode it got worse and worse. It's an absolute mystery to me how you can screw up a story with so much potential.
Not enough with She Hulk herself being her own caricature and neither doing a feminist service nor telling a comprehensible story, no, practically every character in this universe of shame is ripped apart, eaten, digested and... well, let's call it disposed of by the creators.
What they did to Abomination defies description.
DareDevil has become a total schmuck.
Virtually all the men in this series are complete idiots. However... so are the women.
Even if you look at the story detached from M-She-U, the story is complete **** because apparently no one bothered to call a lawyer in advance and ask him to act as a legal expert.
In fact everything, really absolutely everything in this series is intellectual dregs and really not worth the time to write about.
Why I'm doing this is because I need to get it off my chest. Because this trash is so disgusting and disgusting that it cauterizes your eyes while watching it.
And as if all this were not enough, this attack on mental health is also actually misogynistic.
So you really have to get that right first.

It has potential, Tatiana Maslany is a good actress, it's a shame that even though it's a SF it's still loaded with political propaganda and controversial everyday issues. Also I dislike the bad atempt of "smashing" the forth wall.

Even the openly racist and sexist writer/producer would be tolerable if the jokes weren’t just whiney sexist monologues, the action was worse than Bollywood fight scenes, and the creativity is nonexistent.

Genuinely, the only positive is the incredible casting team from Disney. They always crush it somehow despite the god awful decision makers above them.… Expand

Oh boy. I'm not gonna rant on here as I really can't be bothered to anymore when it comes to comicbook movies/shows. But essentially we are now most definitely in the cooling down period as this genre falls off a cliff into completeOh boy. But essentially we are now most definitely in the cooling down period as this genre falls off a cliff into complete unrepentant repetitiveness. There is nothing original or fun here, it's just the same old CGI nonsense with the unwanted added bonus of left-leaning politics tossed in because they can't help themselves.

Frankly, I had a feeling that after the initial 'Endgame' saga ended, going forward things might start to get a bit thin on the ground, a bit desperate, as they try to repeat the same success. So far it simply has not happened as everything has either been mediocre or outright failed. The added political narratives that have been so obviously crowbarred into the mix simply don't help matters either.

But yes, this is essentially an agenda-driven show with a (bad) superhero wrapping. The ONLY reason it's managed to survive is because of the MCU tag and media critics (along with MCU/woke fanboys) shilling to keep the narrative/agenda chugging along.

You could quite easily make something fun here, but they decided not to...for whatever reasons. Apparently Twitter still controls the universe like some malevolent entity trying to prove/force a point and woe betide anyone who doesn't agree.

So, hopefully the superhero genre is slowly dying away. Thank God is all I can say. Totally sick of it. I've never experienced such an onslaught in my entire life of movie watching (and I'm currently 44). The last such onslaught was probably the western genre before my time and to a degree the dystopian sci-fi genre during the late 80's to early 90's, but that wasn't all mainstream.

Never mind eh, worse things happen at sea, you could get catcalled for instance.… Expand

People watch superhero shows for escapism, for action, and for immersion. The final episode takes all of that and throws it in the trash. It leaves viewers feeling deflated and as if their investment into the show was a total joke. Breaking the fourth wall is like a fun little nod to the audience, but this was basically a slap in the face. It's like GOT the final season, doing something unexpected and betraying the whole build-up of the previous episodes. What a terrible waste of money and time. Finally, the disparity between critics' and viewers' ratings shows the clear favoritism the media has for this type of show. Unfortunately, I doubt this positivity translates to viewership and profit.… Expand

The writing is insipid and lazy with no identity, even the show doesn't know what it's about. The CGI looks on par with a PlayStation 3 game, most of the time She-Hulks mouth isn't even correctly matching what words the character is speaking. The character of She-Hulk has been reduced to a vapid narcissist by the writing team. The one redeeming quality of the show is that it ends, and will hopefully not get another season of this pretentious, self-righteous steaming pile. This show is an insult to the legacy of the MCU, it was solely created to stroke the fragile egos of the "writers"...… Expand

I’m now coming to the conclusion of how wrong it was of me to cave into this awful current landscape. The first time writing the review, I toned down my opinions for the same reasons. To put it simply She-Hulk is not a good show. The actress of She-Hulk desperately tries to save the show. You can really see Tatiana Maslany does everything in her power to try to salvage the garbage script and plot. If she wasn’t the actress playing She-Hulk, I doubt I would have been able to make it through all 9 episodes. If you were to make a cringe compilation of She-Hulk, you would simply be re-uploading the entire show. The main villains of the show is the critical viewer… yep. Disney (a multi billion dollar corporation) got so offended by the fans being disappointed by the MCU’s recent phase 4 output that they decided to label them as misogynist “man babies.” Firstly, I would like to say how absurdly embarrassing it is that a company decided to make fun of it’s core audience complains whilst completing ignoring there requests. In addition, how completely childish the storyline is! Also, how completely false their accusation is - it’s not just straight white men who dislike modern marvel, it’s EVERYONE! The current most popular opinion of the MCU is that it fell off! The problem is not female superheroes. The problem is Marvel’s (recent) female characters! Remember when Marvel used to make good female characters like; Gamora, Nebula, and Hela? What’s changed! Why can’t Marvel make actually interesting female characters anymore? She-Hulk had great potential to make an amazing superhero-lawyer show, but instead they decided to make this absolute garbage. In the final episode (spoilers) they have a fourth wall break where She-Hulk goes to Marvel HQ (whatever, I have no hope left for the show’s redemption). She-Hulk meets with the robot Kevin and starts talking about how garbage the current finale was! They knew what they were making was bad! And they still did it! They then have a meta “joke” about how the camera has to move because it’s too expensive to have Jen transform back into her human form. Great timing Marvel Disney! You’ve recently had reports of overworking and underpaying the VFX artists! They then skip the finale (whatever) and cut to a family eating scene (a scene I actually enjoyed). Bruce Hulk then comes in and introduces his son - surprise! Hopefully, they will actually do something interesting with his son. CW’s arrowverse was leagues better! Now that marvel has the multiverse, I really wish I could travel to the multiverse where She-Hulk was a good show! Better yet, the multiverse where Disney doesn’t keep milking this old cow for the sake of money over art! Current MCU has me feeling real depressed, after Thor: Love and Thunder I gave up hope. Now I’m wondering for the superhero genre has a whole. A part of me wishes it would just die out. A genre I used to be obsessed with - I find myself disappointed in.… Expand

I didn't take it too seriously, and I never assumed for one minute that you were supposed to take it too seriously. It's a bit of an MCU themed sitcom starring Jennifer Walters who would love to be a successful attorney, but is now "cursed" - so to speak - with Hulk superpowers. I enjoyed the show, and kept wondering what the next episode would be about. There is a bit of a storyline in the background, but every episode tries to be its own little adventure. The story is not as serious as the biggest MCU films out there, it's rather silly and light. Perhaps it's not for everyone, but it's certainly was for me. I can however criticize the end of the season 1, which was faithful to the comics, but also a bit too "deus ex machina" and made the whole season felt unimportant in retrospect. Still, I hope the show gets more episodes in the future.

I won't criticize the special effects, people can react differently to that sort of thing. I wasn't annoyed by the CGI face of She-Hulk. Perhaps a few times it wasn't too well done, but overall, I didn't mind it. And generally speaking, I really like the design of the character, and the actress playing Jennifer in "human form", so to speak, is absolutely great.… Expand

Every day, my life is in danger because I receive cat-calls on the street. A particularly gruesome example of this was when a man walked up to me on the street and said 'You look beautiful, and I'm sorry if this is inconveniencing your day, but I would love to treat you to dinner'. I immediately drew my pepper spray and sprayed him in the eyes while yelling 'R4pist!'

She-Hulk understands this and that is why I give it a 10/10.

Nah, just kidding. She-Hulk is terrible and sexist.… Expand

Went in not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. It's a solid MCU show and an interesting premise, looking forward to where it might go. Yes, there's feminist content, at the same time, they make fun of women too while featuring non-cringey men as well. After decades of TV misogynistic TV shows (the MCU definitely has had a few sexist tendencies) the world can tolerate one MCU property on the other side of the fence. It seems as though many men don't realize that this is intended to be a comedy, and sitcoms in general tend to go over the top with its characterizations of people's personalities; random side characters in the show are often one dimensional representations of a trope. HIMYM Barney was an over the top one dimensional male character for most of the series embodying the same characteristics as some of the men on She-Hulk; the only difference is he got laid with his antics. I guess a number of men get upset when fictional men don't get laid with crappy behavior. That said, this show seems to have many of the same ingredients for re-watchability as HIMYM (I've already gone back on episodes).

If I have one bit of feedback for my fellow men; sit back, laugh, and don't take this show so personally. It's not about you if you don't make it about you.

Overall it feels like a much better addition to Marvel than some other properties (I'm looking at you, Ant-Man and Black Widow).… Expand

Hah! I love this! I usually hate lawyer shows because they're so inaccurate, but this both captures realistic attorney and court procedure AND is a fun superhero story. LOVE Tatiana Maslany. She was so great in Orphan Black.

Having seen the first few episode my initial hunch is that the show tries to display the human side of being a superhero, as well as trying to appeal to the female audience. The occasional feminist issue is dosed nicely too, contrary to shows that go so much overboard in a particular issue that they deviate from the original story line. I also really hope that they alternate more than repeating one guest as they have done with Wong so far.
The show appears to be using its entire first season to introduce characters and as a prequel for whatever direction it intends to take in the next season.
It has potential, but really needs to develop more in several aspects. Some of the court stuff ofc needs to be there, but really takes up too much time, but that would be solved if they at least made the episodes longer - content of 15-20 mins is simply not enough.
My rating reflects the potential I see in the series… Expand

It's the Sensational She-Hulk!

A close to the comic as a fan like me could have wanted and full of fun MCU stuff. No notes, though I can only hope Season 2 has more Jameela Jamil.

The thing is, this is THE ONE show that is SUPPOSED to be those things. The comic book is about a silly female lawyer with super strength. If you aren't a comic book nerd I don't get why people are watching these stupid Marvel movies in the first place. I just like them when they look and feel like the comic books I grew up with, and this accomplishes that for She Hulk as well as any Disney product could. She Hulk is supposed to say corny things to the camera and mock the Marvel Universe. She's supposed to tease the Hulk and not take him seriously. I am team Geeks and Gamers humbug on most of these modern cultural hot topics but why THIS is the show where mad fans take a stand bewilders me. I actually enjoy it enough to hope they get renewed, it might be the most accurate adaptation they've done yet and its an easy fun watch for me. Most of their other TV shows are way more garbage to me. Hawkeye was actually about a silly teen girl and was terrible, go hate on that one. That's not what a Hawkeye adaptation should be. Jill Stevens, Jen's best friend, always makes me laugh, seeing the contrast between her and some of the super-powered characters is pretty wild. It really reminds us how ridiculous a world with super-powers would be, and I am so happy to see some of this explored.

I really hope they ignore reddit review bombing and make a second season. This show is exactly what I want to see more of from the Marvel universe.… Expand

Fantastic Marvel series that is funny and cleverly written. It doesn't take itself too seriously and is in similar format as Ally McBeal was.
