    Consistently pleasurable. ... That’s the show: funny and light and loopy, able to make a meal out of what seemed like a snack. The show’s fifth season, which starts Wednesday on Pop, finds it having perfected its formula. Big on love, big on reactions, big on outré black-and-white outfits.

    This review contains spoilers, click full review link to view. Schitt's Creek just keeps getting better and better, still my favorite comedy show of all time and my favorite show of all time. The writing is just phenomenal, especially the continues evolution of David and Patrick's relationship, Moria and Johnny finding there place in the world again, and Alexis finally growing up and finding here place in the world as well. The performances from Catherine O'Hara, Dan Levy, Eugene Levy, Noah Reid, Emily Hampshire, Annie Murphy, Chris Elliott, Jennifer Robertson, and Dustin Milligan were exceptional. Robin Duke, Karen Robinson, Rizwan Manji, Sarah Levy, and John Hemphill gave stupendous supporting performances. The chemistry between the whole cast is just remarkable, they play off of each perfectly and are one of the most hilarious ensemble casts of all time if not the most hilarious of all time. The costumes were outstanding especially on Catherine O'Hara, Annie Murphy, and Dan Levy. The makeup and hairstyling was excellent especially on Catherine O'Hara, Jennifer Robertson, Emily Hampshire, Annie Murphy, and Dan Levy. The music is superb as always.     One of the very few series I have watched several times (The Wire, The Office and Breaking Bad the others). Season 5, while quite funny, isn’tOne of the very few series I have watched several times (The Wire, The Office and Breaking Bad the others). Season 5, while quite funny, isn’t the best season so far (see seasons one and two for that). It has however, matured nicely into a thoughtful and well rounded season. Moira Rose is a sight to behold (see episode one The Crow) . Her unique combination of breeding, pretentiousness and costuming combined with perfect delivery is comedy gold. David and Alexis Rose, her children, are perfectly cast. Their eye rolls, “ewes” and requests to their parents to “never mention....(fill-in-the-blank here with something extremely sexual or intimate between their parents or something equally offensive that should be kept private ...again are hysterical. Stevie, home town girl who Was clearly bored to tears in her tedious life prior to the arrival of the Roses becomes energized. The way she can deadpan (her eyes can simultaneously light up and glaze over) with David and their clear chemistry is remarkable). I often marvel at how perfectly this is cast, written and performed. There are several other cast members/characters that are also outstanding and deserve to be mentioned but I have already spent far too much time on this review, and I need my nap.… Full Review »
