It’s a thorny affair, and Jesko and her team know how to let the wounds breathe. Savior Complex never hits you over the head, though it certainly knows what to do when telling moments present themselves.

But what emerges instead are revelations more astute and more disturbing, forged in a crucible of race, religion, money, and global politics.
