Both "The Closer" and Saving Grace are at the top of their games in tonight's premiere episodes.
-
This will be good news to people who enjoy watching train wrecks in which the engineer accelerates as the precipice nears, which is Grace's signature move.
-
Hunter is just so good and the writing is subtle enough that we're willing to go along for the ride, from those looming-tornado opening credits to the last scene of each episode, in which a new heartstrings-plucking tragedy is neatly and satisfyingly resolved.
-
Some may take issue with the cynical tone of both series [Saving Grace and The Cleaner] or the fact that there is very little divine intervention in either.
-
A strange feeling came over me when I was watching the Season 2 premiere of Saving Grace. I actually wished that the episode was longer.
-
Perhaps recognizing the professional problem, the show's writers return with an episode where the crime has a painful personal connection for Grace. Some of the scenes still drag, but it's stronger than most of the season one episodes.
-
Saving Grace is less about its procedural storytelling than it is about simply creating a venue to showcase Hunter's undeniable smallscreen star quality.
-
As before, the “big picture” plotlines are often the least convincing, mostly because the trippy angel talk is tough to pull off.
