Sanditon Season 3 is the show at its soapiest, smartest best and it’s well worth the wait for long-time fans.
-
On the whole, though, the series does nothing to scare the horses, and is as comforting as a mug of cocoa.
-
It still seems to lack ambition, sticking with formula. But the finale has made it the most enjoyable series and at least it makes you feel uplifted rather than asking: "Why did I sit through six hours of this?"

The final-season plates are spinning. It’s by no means the subtlest screen adaptation of Austen (and remember this is nine parts Davies to one part Austen) but it’s fully grown into its own thing.
