Aug 21, 2010The Opening episode was intriguing, but subsequent episodes have been too packed with senseless dialogue that is both hard to follow and boring. Too bad, I was really looking forward to a strong showing from this series. It is always best to show a lot up front and struggle in the middle, but this appears to be destined for failure right from the get go.

Aug 12, 2010I'm a big fan of James Badge Dale ever since seeing him in The Pacific, so I'll continue to give Rubicon a chance. But after three episodes, the show feels sluggish and chilly. It tries way too hard to create a sense of paranoia and the codes and clues that Will Travers manages to decrypt border on absurd. I haven't given up on it yet, but things had better turn around quickly.

Jan 17, 2011I tried to get into this and let the whole season sit on my DVR for months, but this show is simply too slow-paced. Nothing happens and everything is vague, but there are some great actors involved. Sorry, AMC, I really did want to like this.

If you enjoy slowly piecing together a puzzle without having first seen the final image, Rubicon is right up your alley; if not, the brainteasing will likely unnerve you.

It's a dull blend, a slow-moving mind-rot creeping on unsuspecting viewers.

There are some great characterizations and attention to detail. If you stick with the series, you'll be treated to a lecture on the perfect briefcase by the droll Michael Cristopher that's worth the price of admission. And if you think your office banter is entertaining, try swapping in-jokes with the intelligence community.
