I think this show is taking an honest look at our divided country and giving us what we really need. A chance to realize that we are all one big family and we need to get along and laugh at ourselves. It'll make the left and right uncomfortable which isn't a bad thing.

Great writing and cast, has the feel of the old show. Refreshingly different tone to everything else thats on. Really enjoying this so far!

For better or worse feels like old Roseanne. It's comedy light with sarcasm galore. Some political undertones and social commentary though nothing groundbreaking. Honestly the biggest breath of fresh air is to NOT have a sitcom where everyone resides in a million dollar a month apartment in downtown . Overall solid and as a past Roseanne lover I will probably rate it a bit higher thanFor better or worse feels like old Roseanne. It's comedy light with sarcasm galore. Overall I found the first two episodes get a pass. Roseanne and Goodman definitely come off like they're reading lines, Roseanne always speaks like she's in third person. I know she's still the old Roseanne, but most of the cast come off a little more natural. If she and Goodman were more organic in the execution, it would be better, but I think there is potential here. And I understand itOverall I found the first two episodes get a pass. And I understand it is a sitcom, but sometimes the sitcomey formula is tired, predictable, and restricting, and finding a balance can be hard. But it's not impossible. That being said, I'm glad Roseanne is back and I'll keep watching. I'll update later in the season as well. Expand

I have not grown-up with the show but the show STILL managed to connect with me on a deeper level than any other current network sitcom!! That is the power of ROSEANNE!!! Too much TV series lean overwhelmingly left. This show punches both left and right, and the familiar characters are a joy to welcome back, despite their depressingly awkward lives.

The show takes a while to get past its politically-skewed power dynamic. ... To be fair, other top-of-mind social concerns are handled with more nuance and heart than the script’s willful leap over our simmering racial conflicts. The new Roseanne is at its best when the story explores the contortions and compromises Americans have to go through in order to secure decent health care or economic stability.

It takes a little while to rediscover its rhythms, but once it does, it feels tuned in to its world and its country in a way few sitcoms are anymore.

The new Roseanne doesn’t try to carve a spot in the existing landscape so much as it lazily settles into comfortable grooves in a very old couch.
