I get the first episode is all set up, but it dragged on a bit much. We get it, the SAS, even in its infancy, was full of badasses. I don't think we really need an entire episode of bravado to hammer that home. Outside of that and the inevitable and boring spy subplot to meet diversity quotas, the production VueScan and action are great. I can only hope.the action picks up.

I found the pace of the show to be a bit slow. The action seemed to take a long time to get going, and overall I was only moderately satisfied with the series. If you're looking for a fast-paced, action-packed show, this may not be the best choice.

It’s a (sort of) Peaky Blinders in the desert, and it works for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed SAS: Rogue Heroes. It is funnier than Peaky Blinders, which dragged itself into the doldrums for its final series, though this still has plenty of its predecessor’s vim. It is a bracing way to spend a Sunday evening, and, to borrow the parlance of one of its leads, a lot of fun, old boy. Indeed.

Knight will have to go badly astray to not make something highly watchable out of such extraordinary source material. Happily, his heightened, left-field script is perfectly in sync with his subject.
