I can't get over just how far this series has fallen. The first 3 seasons were all incredible and kept getting stronger with each one, then season 4 dropped and the quality of writing was significantly worse than anything that preceeded it. When season 5 came out it was worse than 4, and now season 6 is the worst one yet. There's very little left of this show which once was truly great.

It's not the same show anymore. Bores me and doesnt make me laugh. The first 3 seasons were fantastic. The 4th season started to go downhill and the 5th season was terrible. The writing is really bad and it simply does not have the charm and sense of adventure it used to have. Do they have a new writer or something ? What the **** has happened ?

Better than God-awful season 5 that was maybe a lingering long COVID side effect. However, you can't escape the feeling that it is committing the same mistakes as the Simpson's, mistaking addressing the "topic of the day" with arcane pop facts and reference as a way to stay "fresh" and relevant. Going into a bit more lyrical and irrational fantasy world than trying to build convoluated and trivial musings on fate (Fortune cookie episode) or self-improvement neuroses (night-families)
The new Beavis and Butthead feels so much more refreshing and accurate and ....calming in comparison. Almost a Zen experience. I'm not even kidding.

Episode one is a split with the females doing most of the cool stuff, while the males are in dystopian, depressing, and boring activities. All the "professional" reviewers giving this glowing reviews should stop trying to shill so hard. It is too obvious. This is only one bad episode, but being the premier and after all the missteps of last season, the shades of intersectional feminism (though no Mary Sues barely - since space mom forgets she is armed) could be a sign of things to come. If they make Rick the ultimate bad dad where Beths have to save everyone from him, Harmon will have to go into hiding. Expand

Absolute bonkers season premiere. Unfortunately, you'll have to keep in mind everything that has happened before, so a rewatch is almost mandatory to fully enjoy the season opener; but it still is one hell of a ride. The references are smart, and 'Rick and Morty' keeps being fun. Let's see what else they have in store.

I'm intrigued about this new season, sounds like a reboot of sorts without the portal gun. I'm looking forward for more.

Rick and Morty may no longer have the surprise factor it once had, but it is still able to take stories in unexpected directions and remains very, very funny.

"It's not as good as it was"-sayers seem to dominate the roster in "user reviews" - so I want to chime in: it is not as new as it once was, but it's still Rick & Morty. Season 6 has some crazy concept episodes as well as some standard fare mediocrity. Jarring are the obvious "empowered women" vs. "dumb Jerry" moments, which seems to come with the territory of trying to pre-empt being"It's not as good as it was"-sayers seem to dominate the roster in "user reviews" - so I want to chime in: it is not as new as it once was, but it's still Rick & Morty. A bit more disrespect would help elevate the plot more than is present currently.

It is still way better than Simspons since ca. Season 11, so R&M has 5 Seasons to roughly go, or at least until S12 as per their own narrative, to find the Szechuan Sauce for Rick.

The incest stuff was weird but some of these episodes were fun. Shame the show is probably gonna be canceled because Justin Roiland is a piece of ****

Yeah it was pretty good, but more importantly, what the **** is Justin Roiland up to?... Oh God

Boasting a strong season opener and a delightfully familiar follow-up, if the season retains the style I’ve seen thus far—balancing both serialized arcs and classic sci-fi craziness—this will be high up as one of the best seasons Rick and Morty has offered to date.

Luckily, Season 6 is off to a Ricktastic start. Only two episodes were available for critics to review, but they were both delightful. ... The animation hasn’t dipped in quality in the slightest.

Season 6 so far is full of references to earlier episodes that will land better if you’re the kind of obsessive fan that’s watched all the previous seasons multiple times (to say nothing of references to Raiders of the Lost Ark, or The Usual Suspects). But there are also some entertaining new riffs that may well enter the annals of the show’s most popular bits.
