Great series so far! Really enjpyed the first 2 episodes. The animation seems to have improved from previous seasons and the amount of Rick's burping has been reduced.

Awesome start to what I think will be an awesome season! The premiere had everything that we love about Rick and Morty in it! It was a great way to start the season. If the rest of the season is as good as the premiere, this will be the best season yet! And that’s saying something! My favorite show on TV right now!

This seasons great gone back to being more serialised but with the character development still in place, characters are much more well-rounded.

Rick & Morty is a very funny and sometimes dark animated SF comedy series. Justin Roiland is an extremely talented individual and he's the heart of this show. Episodes are generally self-contained, but there are references to other episodes and there is an interesting overarching story. I'm really curious to see where it goes.

Despite the inconsistent scheduling, that involved a two year wait following season three and a six-month gap between the two halves of this season, but into it’s fourth season Rick & Morty remains one of the most original, bizarre and darkly humorous shows to ever hit the screen.

Another great season so far. If you were a fan of the first three seasons you will also be a fan of this.

Rick and Morty S04 is as good as any of the other seasons. Its funny, deep and most certainly what I expected it to be.

And just a little fyi: No, its is not only 5 episodes, its 10 episodes like season 2 and 3. But only 5 episodes air this year. The rest will air in 2020.

I think this season carried off the series in excellent fashion. The amount of creativity in each episode is astounding.

    Worst season so far.
    I enjoyed one episode : " Rattlestar Ricklactica ". it's a great episode.
***Review updated 6 month later**** with the release of episodes 6-7-8-9-10.
Second half of the season is much better that the first half:
Very funny, crazy, with lots of sci-fi references.
The show seems back on his tracks in a good way.

Once again Rick and Morty brings a barrage of unexpected, creative and really funny jokes.

However, I thought several of the stories weren't as strong as previous seasons. Now, the show is known for its cynical, dark humor, but it felt like the writers were trying a little too hard this time. RIck's misanthropy has always been one of the show's main components, but this time it was

RIck's misanthropy has always been one of the show's main components, but this time it was overdone and got tiresome after a while.

Still, there are some real gems in this, including "Rattlestar RIcklactica," and "Never Ricking Morty." This does have my favorite season finale of the show.

Much like last season, Summer (voiced by Spencer Grammer) is underutilized.

Overall, the show may be showing its age a little, but there is still a great mix of jokes you won't find anywhere else.

This Season is ok for Ricky and Morty. It has funny moments and has some Deep moments. Not the Best though. It's great to have Some Episodes after 2 years in hideous. I'm a little disappointed that we only get 5 episodes this season. But what can you do? I'm open-minded to see more this season. But it's got to step up!

Thank God for Rick and Morty. A fluffy cloud of levity, wit and self-deprecation dashing above the self-righteous, ponderous woke blobs of nonsense (Watchmen, Handmaid...) in which so-called peak TV is now englued.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This season lacks self-restraint. "Onanistic" comes to mind. It is the TV equivalent of having to scroll and scroll and scroll a blog post before reaching a recipe. It is still a trove of absurdist wisdom; at its best, the humor is still shocking and incisive. But the jokes are fewer, replaced, it would seem, by gratuitous violence. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching wasp-Rick eat Mr. Goldenfold alive as much as the next guy. But if I wanted gratuitous violence I'd be watching early Game of Thrones...unfortunately, I wanted incendiary humor. Expand

I can defend season 3, but season 4 is just awful. The show seems completely different from the first 3 seasons and it's actually difficult to get through each episode. It's a real shame considering how good it used to be.

The show went from a smart multilayered humor with great character depth that I was ok letting my son watch sometimes to just saying **** a lot and having slut dragons being creepy. There a few fun moments but not enough. I hope the season picks up, if not season 4 might kill the franchise. I love this show but this season is a big step backwards.

Rick and Morty season 4 is just disappointing. The storylines are overreaching and rushed. The plots just seem random and confusing.. it's all missing the depth. Not worth watching.

In ways both refreshing and disappointing, it is indeed a throwback to a simpler Rick and Morty, with lower emotional stakes, some of the show’s signature inventiveness, and more straightforward sci-fi adventure. “Edge of Tomorty” isn’t the funniest the show has ever been, and it is far from the most meaningful. But the episode does boast a wildly profane imagination, gruesome visual contortions, and the self-awareness needed to poke fun at its own slightness.

The season 4 premiere was outrageously confident, and generally outrageous. Rick and Morty is angrily funny, powered by Rick’s galactic cynicism and a tendency toward hysterical navel-gazing criticism. The self-awareness would be annoying, if there wasn’t so much self there.

“Edge of Tomorty” feel[s] like a way of, like Morty, the show asserting that it has its own say in where it gets to go and how long it takes to get there.
