    Primitive, childish writing. Bad characters that make you wish them get torn in to pieces by zombies for their idiotic inconsistent behavior. Mediocre actors and CG, too much cheap drama.
    Could be much better...

    I think they did a good job with Wesker and the CGI is spot on but thats it. Story 2/10 and the other cast 1/10. Feels like the story was made up as they went along in a bad way. The back and forth happens WAY too much.

    I wanted to like it but is is just boring and terrible. I really dislike when they jump back and forth from Current time to the past and future, especially at the beginning. They only do it because they can't make you care enough about characters with the current story and the character building dent have enough action. Cheap CGI and bad writing ruin this show.     1/16th Resident Evil, 15/16th badly written drama. There are some good scenes in the first few episodes (the parts set in the future) but these equate to about 10 minutes each time, and even that storyline descends into tedious melodrama towards the end.

    Whoever wrote the dialogue for the teenagers should be fired immediately, what the f***! The writing in general is pretty damn bad.    1/16th Resident Evil, 15/16th badly written drama.     I'm gonna give this a 3 out of respect for Lance Reddick. He's good, the rest not so much. I'm confused as to why they even called this Resident Evil. Despite some references to the T-virus and obviously Umbrella Corp, this does not feel like RE at all. They could have just named it something else and it would probably be fine.

    In a way, the project is like Umbrella's monsters: it's a chaotic mess. It's also like salted pop corn or chips; you can't stop consuming them, but it is still junk. It's another project that could have been rejected in order to fund a new season of Chambers, or The OA...

    This series is so loveless and irrelevant that only the name "Resident Evil" can entice.
    The disappointment is then all the greater.

    I just don't understand it. Why even use pay to use the "Resident Evil" name and then not make a RE show? You alienate and piss off the RE fans, non-fans will pass, and then you have no one caring. Its a terrible RE show and a subpar meh Zombie show. Everyone loses, no one cares. You shouldn't either.

    Yep...would definitely go with the user score on this one. The actors have been robbed by really poor everything else bar a few nice creature effects. And btw, I know we're suspending a good deal of disbelief here anyway, but bullets do not just bounce off vehicles - this isn't the A-Team circa 1983...

    This isn't Resident Evil. This is a teen drama with sprinkled zombies to move the drama forward. The writing is quite simply the worst I've seen in any type of format, movie, game or series. The characters are downright unlikable, and I couldn't care less about a forced drama of two obnoxious teens. This was supposed to be Resident Evil, not the OC.

    Can any game adaptation writer respect at minimum the source material.
    Albert Wesker seriously, can anyone check the backup story, apparently no, neither Capcom.

    Incredible to mess like this with a rich universe with multiple star characters.

    But its just a tear in an ocean of mediocrity and maladaptation on purpose i presume.

    Netflix, you might be aiming for a "AAA leader" ESG rating through your shows and movies, but what's the point if nobody wants to watch them? If you always prioritize cookie-cutter social justice "entertainment" production over viewing figures, good stories and good characters, you will fail, no matter how much ESG capital investment you receive.

This takes the "diverse" trope of making everything black and cranks it to 100. Since they were too preoccupied with "the message", they forgot to write an actual story.

The protagonist is awful. The script is full of unfunny quotes. This is definitely not made for fans of the franchise.     As a Resident Evil fan of the games since day 1, I can say that this series has once more nothing to do with the soul of the games. It's another action series approach mixed with teenie drama instead of even trying a survival horror series that stick faithful to the games. But why the rating of two? Because they did three things right. Actually I liked the woman there as the villain. I think she did quite a good job, and I liked the twist at the end and that it included quite some "monsters" from the game. What again is a no go, is what I wrote about that they once more ignored the soul of the resident evil games, and heck why did they had to cast Albert Wesker black? Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against black people nor against black actors, but when a character that you know since 1996 is absolutely manifested in the series and you know how he looks like and behave, it's a no go to just drop that and change the character entirely. I mean, I also don't want to see a white morpheus in matrix or a white wesley snipes in blade. Why can't they just stick to the source material? It contains more than enough to make a proper movie... Maybe, hopefully, next time. Never give up hope...… Expand

Decisions don't make sense, fights or flights are unrealistic (main Protagonist gets hunted by a hundred zombies, falls to the ground, wrestles with one zombie and the rest of the zombies waits for 25 seconds until her plot armor disappears). Put on top of that cringe scenes that are typical Netflix and you have a bad series. Lance Reddick is a good actor,A badly written teen girl Drama.     I realy dont understand why they give lore rich franchises to peoples who do not have slightest idea about them,this is not Resident Evil,not at all,like they destroyed Cowboy bepop,The witcher seasson 2,Halo..etc writers are trashing these beloved franchises,bad reviews are justified,do not watch this

    Ive been a fan of Resident Evil since I was 4 years old. And I understand that this is a completely different story than the games. However, This show is terrible. I just cant get through it. Its not interesting. I just dont care about these characters. Lance is an amazing actor, but as Wesker? Cmon....     Not everything in this show clicks. The biggest problem is the character of Jade, who is, regrettably, super-annoying in both timelines. ... Most of the show works quite well, however.

    Given the six choppy hours that preceded “Resident Evil’s” rousing two-part ending, it’s hard to trust future seasons will stick with the bananas spirit Season 1 stumbled upon.

    Packed with humor, heart, and some of the coolest action scenes of the year, it’s a show that will leaving you alternatively screaming at and cheering for your television. Resident Evil is simply a great time.
