He [Richard Armitage] is serviceably thrilling. .... Perfectly fun, perfectly functional twist-n-conspiracy-laden tale.
-
There’s just enough to keep you guessing. Red Eye takes itself seriously, but you don’t have to.
-
Lusi is convincing as the surly officer slowly clocking that someone wants Nolan dead. Armitage is intriguing although wooden as a man who seems to be falsely accused but is hiding something. Just like his dodgy-looking fellow doctors. So far this flight from hell is entertaining, tense and obviously daft.

Red Eye is the ultimate junk-food entertainment, and I don't even mean that in a bad way; sometimes, that's exactly what we need.

Red Eye is not ambitious. Silly, sure; derivative, yes; but just about watchable – even if only in the way that the in-flight map is watchable after a few too many bloody marys.
