Season 1 Review: Despite the heavy premise, the series as a whole is surprisingly light on its feet. Sure, here and there are painful excavations of trauma or equally tear-jerking moments of defiant joy. Season 1 Review: A ripped-from-the-headlines premise may locate the new series in the white-hot center of modernity, but Dunn and company extract little insight from that aggressive timeliness. ... It gets there toward the end, when the writers finally start developing real characters beyond mere identity descriptors. But so much of the series is an aimless wander haunted by an annihilating tragedy, a survey of queer existence that locates itself in struggle, interrupted only by bouts of defiant hedonism. This is the 3rd version of this series . In 1999, it was set in England, then a year later Showtime launched the American version set it Pittsburg. This reboot takes place in New Orleans and features a much more diverse cast. There's still plenty of sex, colorful language, plus drag queensThis is the 3rd version of this series . There's still plenty of sex, colorful language, plus drag queens and trans characters added to the diverse mix (with Kim Cattrall and Juliette Lewis as moms). The pace zips along until a tragedy sets up the rest of the series. Since I've watched the entirety of the first 2 series, I decided not to continue past this first ep (the remainders require a subscription). It doesn't look bad, just doesn't present anything new or clever enough to appeal to me anymore. (Eight one-hour eps)… Expand

The rest of the characters are pure selfish, vapid, typical gays. The main character played by Brodie(Kim Katrall's son) played by Devin Way is an example of how toxic gays can be. I only made it to episode 4 and threw in the towel. Plain awful. Not to mention boring.
