If you loved it before, you'll love it again. "Auf"-ully good.
-
Tim Gunn still motherhens the designers, the dramatic arcs feel familiar (one designer is a recovering addict, another gave up a career as a surgeon), and--wonders to behold--there's even a branch of the fabric store Mood in Runway's new Los Angeles home.
-
As usual, high-voltage drama ensues, including a big tear-down when one designer is given the completely wrong measurements for the model who will wear his gown.
-
Either executives did a lot of soul-searching and decided to change nothing, or they let the show go on without thinking at all. Either way, they made the right move.
-
For now, Runway is precisely what long-time fashionistas have been slavering for all these months. Best-dressed, indeed.
-
It's the miraculous simplicity of creating something from nothing that makes Runway endlessly watchable.
-
Though the setting has shifted from New York to Los Angeles, the look and feel of the show are essentially unchanged, with Heidi Klum and her Valkyrie manner still doing the hosting and Tim Gunn continuing to bring an Oxford don’s comportment to his sartorial mentoring.
-
Did the new network screw up the show? Not that I could tell from the incomplete first episode sent for review (no judge's remarks or eliminations).
-
I’m just as tickled to have Project Runway back on any network, and the move to Lifetime, change of locale and long wait between seasons don’t appear to have dimmed its bitchy allure.
-
We can only be assured that Gunn's presence in the workroom will keep Project Runway's creative fires burning bright and any maudlin meltdowns to a satisfying but tasteful minimum.
-
Runway remains the most delicious of junk foods, and with the added pleasure of occasionally baring witness to unique, well-crafted garments, this must-see program might even be considered educational.
-
As usual with premiere episodes, it's not until the end that we start to sense which contestants we can ignore and which ones could be around awhile. The pace will quicken once we have a better sense of the lineup.
