The premise, the structure, the overall tone, and the consistency of Primo will all feel familiar and comforting, and this is a fervent, appreciative recommendation.

Primo is a fun, feelgood family sitcom that shows a type of family that we rarely see on TV.

The result is a well-balanced show that delivers real laughs while portraying a true TV rarity: the Chicano family.

Primo is another low-key winner for Freevee. The comedy isn’t always full of laughs and sometimes leans too heavily into sitcom formula, but its lived-in family portrait feels instantly authentic and the eight-episode first season evolves into something with a tremendous amount of heart.

There’s an empathetic portrait here being sketched of a working family trying their best—quite literally borrowing and bartering to celebrate any and all of primo’s successes. In that sense, Primo is a fresh and welcome new entry into a well-worn genre that reminds us that home is where the humor is.

Great cast, acting, and incredible writing all combine. I love this show already and there’s no reason we shouldn’t get 4-5 more seasons of “primo” if they continue this successful formula they found Full Review »
