you would think with so much time and money spent to create this they would have spent just a little on script and acting. The concept has potential but hat they produced is just cringeworthy.

As someone who grew up with comic books, love science fiction, videogames, anime and manga. Sitting through an episode of "Powers" was painfully boring.

Instead, we get a crime show, which we have an abundance of, except about people with powers which doesn't make it anymore interesting than the dozens that's available on air. We only have limited time in this world, don't waste a second of it watching this mediocre show.

To star off, this show is really really cheesy. Honestly the cheesiest/worst acted show I've seen in years. To top it off, it's about two detectives and blah blah cliche' story. I couldn't get through half the episode without turning it off. Easily one of the worst television shows ever created. period.

This is truly a terrible show. Everything from the trite dialogue to the poor casting is rubbish. It's generous to call the acting "sub-par." But could anyone deliver those horribly-written lines believably? The pacing is all wrong, the editing is amateurish, and it appears to have been directed by film school flunk-outs. Even the premise is unoriginal: ever heard of X-Men or Heroes? This is truly a terrible show. Everything from the trite dialogue to the poor casting is rubbish. PlayStation should stick to games. Someone should revoke their right to create any further television series. Expand

This is a really bad show. Decent storyline, awful script, bad acting. This show is a disgrace to the comic-based superhero TV genre.

Very low-budget, I bet there are 30 second commercials that have had a better budget than this show.

If this was a film school project, the person who submitted it would be getting an F.

So there really isn't much here for people, cheap special effects poor acting.
The series could get better though the shorts at the end of one of the episodes looked promising.
THis show really seperates people who love everything Sony and people who like things that are good. Sharlto Copley isn't too bad but him and his partner need their interactions ironed out. There's no way this

There's no way this series deserves a ten if it gets better I will edit this up and change appropriately but everyone who gave it a ten let alone a green rating, you can picture all the green raters at home right now with their PS VITAS, Z1s and other variously assorted playstation merchandise.
Also seriously poor show of SOny to only give the series away to americans.

I wasted 10 hours of my life watching this garbage. Here's why >
For one, there are few people who's powers are shown off in a decent way. The acting is **** they try to mend this by having everyone cursing for comic relief. The second main "Bad guy" can't be caught because all the evidence against him is circumstantial, which is also bull****. Any jury with half a brain would convict

The main bad guy supposedly can't be killed, kind of like the wolverine. I state, they (The police and government) just didn't try hard enough because of humanitarian purposes. Then there's something that I couldn't forgive, why I would rate this show a 3. One of the strongest "Super Heros" who can be thrown through concrete walls, shot at, stomped on. Get's killed in the end by a 18 yearold kid with a butcher knife. One of the only characters that we can actually enjoy get's killed in an anticlimactic way, in the most unrealistic way imaginable.
This show is garbage. Don't dish out money to watch it, don't waste your time like I did an watch it. I hope this helps!

I couldnt keep watching. Too many deviations from the comic (which is what made readers like the concept in the first place) and lots of angsty teen crap that serves no purpose.

Switching Calista from a smart little girl to a much less smart older girl was the first thing that crapped on the show. Not to mention she just gets bounced around to other character's "safety" throughout the

I tried to keep going and just couldnt. Now when I get that email from Sony saying there's a new episode, I ignore it.

It was a genuine struggle to make it through the first episode. The acting was sub-par and the plot felt forced. All in all, it was a miserable experience and I had to fight not to turn it off less than halfway in. It seemed like someone had read the "Steelheart" books by Brandon Sanderson and tried to write their own version, but sadly, the writings of a child just don't live up to the story being told.

There’s rarely a moment when Powers doesn’t seem like a cheap knockoff of more fully realized extended universes.

It is a refreshing amalgamation of the two genres that creates a fascinating exploration into the world of four-color comics by imagining what it might really be like to live among costumed superheroes and villains.

The actors have no chemistry together and their characters lack the kind of depth and texture that a well-crafted TV project would have been able to give them. Various actors frequently have to deliver painful exposition dumps, the storytelling is often incoherent.
