It seems like good comedy, interesting characters, and clever plot are always taking a back seat to stereotypes, woke-approved laughs, and diversity checkmarks (with regular mention on every episode).

Not funny, to woke, and first episode was a turn off. Wish I could speak about plot, but I couldn't find anything to suggest an actual plot, unless boring is a plot, then by all means, it's A+

For once in my life I just want to watch an entertaining show that doesn't try to lecture me on social justice. Wokemaker will constantly remind you why America's gone to s***.

I went in open minded but was very disappointed. It just isn't funny and trying to be vulgar or gross just doesn't cut it. The dialog is almost as boring as the characters. Crap show cant take peacemaker seriously at all as he becomes totally incompetent for no reason at all. Makes me wonder how gunn made him so great in the movie but managed to lose everything that made him great in the transition to series.Crap show cant take peacemaker seriously at all as he becomes totally incompetent for no reason at all. So this is what has come of the first spin off show for the DCEU. Not an Amazons series or anything similar to the fantastic HBO Superman and Lois series. Bad Jokes that dont land and add ontop all that with.......John Cena. James Gunn at his dirtiest and right up to the neck full of sh!t. With any luck when new owners Discovery take over WB they will sort things out and one of those things is throwing into the trash rubbish like this show.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This show isn't without its merits. Its well filmed. John Cena does a good job. however its often not funny, and more often cringy and irritating. I gave up late into the third episode. Watching some character eating obnoxiously loud (Is eating loudly with your mouth open an American thing?) Whilst listening to an avalanche of unfunny jokes. No more...

It's a woke show, there is no denying that. One scene involves a middle eastern man lecturing peacemaker about killing to many minoritys and to kill more white people. Another for no reason at all Peacemaker says he is an Ally to the LGBT community. Another he's in a restaurant and calls the waitress "Sweet Cheeks" and proceeds to get chastised for his behaviour. Every episide starts off with him dancing in what looks like a gay nightclub. His Dad is some super racist apparent Nazi. A scene he goes to jail he straight away tells a black guy to move so he can have his seat then every single white male in the prison block walks over kneals and raises their arm with the Nazi salute... Its just ridiculous.

I am not wasting anymore time giving this show second chances. If you like what modern woke hollywood is always preaching then you will probably still find something to be offended by with this show, for everyone else. There's much better stuff worth your time.… Expand

10 out of 10 if it was just John Sema and Eagly... Basically throw out the rest of trash lackluster hacks that would be a better fit for the hallmark channel or some over done soap opera.

Maybe add in some actual freaking talent or a support cast; ie: groot/gamora/rocket (you know, talent, like-able, some depth, personalty, believable?). Maybe just a lower bar; good actors...

The shallow and depthless characters are as wide as a lake and and as shallow as a puddle. As the story forces in a bunch of benign topics that are supposed to be edgy; 25% of scenes are just out of place and feel forced/jumbled. Clear they were aiming for messaging and "correct" hiring vs casting correctly and it shows. I see a good story buried under all the trash; too bad it was whittle down to this mediocre at best result.

Love of god; it is James Gunn and DCU... expected a-lot more.

Watch for funny scenes with eagly!... not much else there.… Expand

Endless socio-political comments from this incredibly inclusive character manage to distract from all holes in the plot and lack of logic in general. What a perfect plan!
