    It's loose and goofy where Ferris [Bueller] and its television counterpart are smug and smarmy. ... If Parker Lewis can resist the temptation to turn its hero into a nerve-grating smart-ass, it might deserve a chance.

    The show is influenced by “Ferries Buellers Day Off” and influenced many other TV shows. The surrealism elements this show created were also used by Ally Mc Beal and of cause by Scrubs. What made this show so good? The humor in combination with the actors. You had the trio of Parker Lewis (Corin Nemec) the cool guy, then Michael Randell (Billy Jayne) a rebel without (?) cause and Jerry Steiner a nerd and the brains. All of these are stereotypes but done well and in an entertaining way that bring a smile on your face. They work well together with their great chemistry and are nearly unbeatable as a team. Then you have the supporting cast: Principal Grace Musso (Melanie Chartoff) who is feared by all and be the nemesis of the trio. She is a force to be recognized. Then a fan favorite Lawrence (Larry) Kubiac played by Abraham Benrubi the lovable stereotype of a bully / football player with a small brain and a hearth of gold he can not show because of expectations. He is also smarter than you think. There is of cause Franklin Lemmer the lap dog or better described the bloodhound of Miss Musso. Season 1 tested and improved the Formular of this show. Even when it is totally over the top and hillarious you recognize real life situations and smart approaches to serious themes. School and growing up can be hard. Also they strted the running gags: Jerry while still a student was so smart that the NASA asked him for help on a regular basis and his coat had so many functions and tools that even Tony Stark would be impressed (Some will say humiliated). When Larry Kubiac appears there will always be small earthquakes and he had the catch phrase “Eat now” where he always get food (I think some kind of fish?). For Frank Lemmer: He is often portrait as vampire, a military guy and can be summoned by Ms. Musso with a dog whistle. He can teleport to her or appear out of nowhere. His tears are like acid and can damage the floor. Ms. Musso signature move is pointing with her thumb which has a pulling effect to her target and shatters the glass window of her office door. This is the kind of humor we enjoyed a lot back then. My favorite episodes are Operation Kubiak which introduces the character, Saving Grace for the its set up, King Kube for the well used characters and story, The human Grace for the same and Splendor in the Class for the meaning of friendship. All other episodes are also worth watching. Overall while you get many good laughs out of it the show has also interesting approaches to serious theme and problems. A shame that it was forgotten by time or maybe it was the kind of show of its time that doesn't work today anymore.… Full Review »
