    Not the best season of Parenthood but still pretty strong. Kristina's battle with cancer was by far the most intriguing story line of the season full of the usual Parenthood teary moments almost weekly. I also greatly enjoyed the plot involving Joel and Julia's adopting of Victor. There were some story lines that did not work for me. Max's run for class president and almost everythingNot the best season of Parenthood but still pretty strong. Kristina's battle with cancer was by far the most intriguing story line of the season full of the usual Parenthood teary moments almost weekly. I also greatly enjoyed the plot involving Joel and Julia's adopting of Victor. There were some story lines that did not work for me. Max's run for class president and almost everything that went along with it was pretty horrible. Although it only had a short 3 or 4 episode arc the plot involving the possible closing of The Luncheonette was probably the worst thing this show has ever done. Ray Romano was a welcome addition to the cast despite the fact that it resulted in Sarah's horrible treatment of Mark. Overall another solid season of the best melodrama on television.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As the seasons roll out, the family of actors becomes stronger and stronger. The best of the actors are Monica Potter and Mae Whitman. At the start of the season, Monica Potter's character, Kristina Braverman is diagnosed with breast cancer. Overall, her character is very emotional about it and tries to stay positive. Her struggle is the highlight of the season. In my opinion, she deserves an Emmy win for supporting actress. It was truly phenomenal. Many other storylines were very great as well during the season including Amber's storyline with her new boyfriend, Max's run for school president, and the adopting of a child. While some other storylines became stale, one of these was Lauren Graham's relationship problems. Her relationship problems has been the main struggle of the series. You long for her to stay with Jason Ritter, but then Ray Romano comes in and gives her another perspective on it. Another problem was Drew's aborted child episode arc was only three episodes. The audience didn't get to delve into abortion as much as I had wanted. The whole storyline felt rushed and messy. However, that was the only storyline of the season that I felt that way about. The performances of the ensemble were terrific. All in all, I consider Parenthood to be the best family drama on television and this was the best of the four seasons to date.… Expand

    Some of the episode is forced--Sarah's babbling job tryout with Hank, for instance--but in those universal moments of family togetherness and transition, as these grown-ups who sometimes still feel like kids marvel at the mystery of parenthood, Parenthood is worth its weight in sentimental angst.
