With a series so well-anchored by these two men, the range of the ensemble in place to support them also happens to be a wealth of comedic riches. ... Here, too, lies an example of something that Our Flag Means Death pulls off so well: the blending of comedy and sincerity, especially between the type of people who are still trying to discover the truest versions of themselves.

Season 2 Review:
With this new installment, Jenkins and the rest of the writing team — Alyssa Lane, Alex Sherman, Adam Stein, Eliza Jiménez Cossio, John Mahone, Simone Nathan, Zayre Ferrer, Jes Tom, and Natalie Torres — still manage to strike the balance between lighter and darker elements, which all contribute to a perfect tenor that sings throughout every episode.

Episode three, “The Innkeeper,” makes us wait a hell of a long time to learn the truth of Blackbeard’s fate. .... The episode ends in a true gift for Stede/Ed shippers that’s also in keeping with Our Flag’s gorgeous earnestness.

“Our Flag Means Death” is always stuck feeling like it’s either trying too hard, or not trying enough; it plays out like the kind of comic experiment that must have been fun for its actors and filmmakers, while we struggle to get on board with its freewheeling dopiness.

This is my favorite show. I cannot stop thinking about it. It's funny, heartwarming and has an amazing cast of characters. And it's about gay pirates. There's no reason you shouldn't watch this show.

Such a funny, heart-warming, comforting show, which is easy to just keep rewatching over and over again. I can't recommend Our Flag Means Death enough and I genuinely believe that its existence has made the world a better place.

Incredible show, I watched it all in one sitting and then watched it all over again the next day. So very funny and very heartwarming, they are pirates and they are a family.

Funny and romantic, highly enjoyable. No spoilers but let's just say the writers aren't cowards. Excellent show! Lots of fun, and who doesn't enjoy a good pirate tale?

The show is witty, funny,heartfelt story of a group of people trying to figure out what makes them happy. It just happens to be set in 1717 and that they are pirates.

I was very disappointed. I heard this movie was ALL about ghay stuff, sadly it was not ghay enough. No where near a ghay pride parade levels ghayness. Lame. Derivative. Banal.
