What a terrific piece of television, fully committed to the scope and sprawl of the prison, constructed with labyrinthine preciseness, and capable of brutality and pathos at which previous seasons have only hinted. It's pretty much exactly what we've come to expect from Orange. Good characters, great acting, and the overall message that even though some people might be **** they're really all just people trying to get by in the world.

The big con is that the series has become so bloated with characters that the whole thing feels a bit schizophrenic. You barely spend more than 5 minutes even with the feature characters in an episode and each episode features a half dozen small stories that don't necessarily mesh at all. I really enjoy the development of the side characters, but I'd really like to see more focus.

When shows crank out consistently stellar seasons like this show has (it's so carefully constructed like other greats, The Americans and Breaking Bad), it's difficult not to fall in love.

Arguably the best season in the series, marred only by it's incredibly negative and ugly stereotyping of veterans. Overall much more emotional, much darker, and a solid return to form after a bumbling season 3.

Despite the slow build up to the new changes at Litchfield, Season four of OITNB is an incredibly powerful fourth chapter in the lives of the women we have learned to love for who they are behind their criminal veil. The season begins somewhat lightly, with our favorite inmates cracking jokes that keep us laughing. As the show progresses through, it begins to draw you in through its mind-blowing and jaw-dropping plot. This season is one of the most intense of them all, but regardless, it is hands down, the show's most incredible.

By the time season 4 starts to become really interesting, suddenly the season is over. Season cliff hangers aren't anything new, but why are they still completely acceptable? It isn't like the show can't wrap up a story arc and we wouldn't come back.

I was completely unsatisfied with how the season ended. Instead of having multiple stories in a single season, it'd be nice if they could focus on a single story and wrap it up by the end of the season.

Season 4 really suffers from a lot of filler content as well that distracts from the overall stories being told. It's perfectly acceptable to explain part of a characters back story when it is necessary. The issue with season 4 is they are constantly doing this with a majority of the characters and more times then not, it's nothing more then fluff, it does not contribute to the over all story being told and in the end is designed simply to waste our time.

The writers need to start working a little harder with season 5 or it may be the last time I ever watch Orange is the New Black.

Season 4 of OITNB is extremely powerful. After a slow start the show takes us to a climax build up of the last 3 seasons; the human rights of prisoners and how the system takes advantage.

This is Netflix's best show. The acting is phenomenal, with Taylor and the whole supporting ladies in need of Emmy nominations for next years Emmy's. This season get's better and better with every episode and it's hard not to binge watch in two days. GREAT JOB!

Orange Is The New Black comes back with explosive tense scenes, carefully created by the writers to bring you into the prison and show you the harsh, dangerous conditions their put through. This season brings back what Season 3 missed which was humanity. More gritty emotions return, this Season stands out by far.

A spectacular comeback from a mediocre season three, and I will say right now that there are cliff hangers and unanswered questions by this fourth seasons end, but the season itself as a whole was so well written/paced, that it feels like the wait for next season is going to be a tough one to make, but fulfilling once were actually there. Highly recommend.

What a terrible season, such lazy writing & directing, I liked the first two seasons, the third season was alright, and this season was so bad I fast forwarded though so much cloying unnecessary filler plots. Blech, they ruined it.

    Just....wow.
I was really scared of this season, because i really didnt like the third one. I hoped that they could find back to old glory....and they did.
This season is pure gold, right now my favorite season. The plot is just great, extremely great.

I think the distributed focus in this season of the show not only sets up a host of interesting plot lines, but that it gives background for characters that otherwise appear stereotyped in previous seasons.

As with previous seasons the show doesn’t quite get everything right in terms of writing and characters but the talented ensemble cast help to make for another entertaining thirteen episodes of this popular Netflix show.

A show originally labeled as a comedy takes a dark turn into a powerful drama dealing with issues of race, gender, morality, and power. I applaud the writers for being bold enough to take the show down this road, because for me, it payed off big-time.

Due to the events of this season, the prison is turned into a REAL bad prison, what makes it way more interesting. You are always going to have weak storylines in a show with so many characters, but most of them work. And I particularly appreciate the likeability of the male characters this season, something that we don't see very often in the series.

Slow to start this season's conclusion is an unexpected revelation that is not only shocking but practical. The death of an inmate at the hand of a guard changes a lot for the prisoners .

Orange loses little steam in its fourth tour of duty, with extremes of dark comedy and bitter tragedy, often heartbreaking in its depiction of metal illness and addiction, devastating in its escalation of racial conflict after the prison's cold-blooded new corporate owners flood the cell block with new bodies, triggering a demographic power shift. The new status quo and even more skewed power balances within the prison doesn’t just test every single character. It pushes all of them to their limits, and eventually throws them right the hell off the cliff they’ve been teetering on the edge of.

Orange Is the New Black itself, which has grown richer, more surprising, and ambitious in its fourth season. That doesn’t always mean it’s better than ever--often it isn’t--but is just as admirable as ever.
