I do not want to spoil this much but if you have watched to season 4 you will be blown away by this one. It's excellent done. The effects, the plot twists and the action will have you wanting for more. So far its amazing and I warmly recommend it

After its low quality fifth season I was not expecting too much out of this season, but I was very pleasantly surprised to see just how well they were able to handle the "dark swan" and camelot addition to the story. Brings new life to the show and cannot wait to see the rest of what they come up with next.

This season is an improvement from last year but not by much. A major battle between the evil Emma versus the former Evil Queen would really highlight this season. What I find interesting is that the show now centers around Emma and Regina where the rest of the cast seems to have faded into the background; especially David and Mary Margaret.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The worst season so far

Season 3 really kept me interested in the show.
But after The best villain i've seen died "Peter Pan" i wasn't so interested anymore.
I kept watching to see who would come next but season 4 lacked good acting and good actors.
Season 5 had an interesting twist with Emma turning dark and i was eager to see what would happen, Well lets just say i regret watching it because Emma really wasn't all that dark, Although i was happy to see them go to the underworld and to see some old faces return. But sadly they decided to not bring Peter Pan back to life and with that decision they probably screwed up season 6 already.Since now they would have to make an ever better villain and they would probably have to fight Hades, but Hades isn't an interesting character and probably will be defeated in just one battle. If there will be a season 6b They probably run out of good evil characters.I'm very sorry to say that i won't watch Once Upon A Time anymore

The WORST Season of Once Upon a Time yet. Season 1,2 and 3 were all excellent. Season 4 was starting to show signs that the writers were running out of ideas, and this Season confirmed it. Unless they realize that and fix their mess in Season 6, this show is officially dead.

I've reached my breaking point with the show. The writing has just gotten too asinine. There is no long any consistency with the characters as they will constantly go back and forth against everything they've previously stood for just to create artificial drama. There is no long any consistency with the characters as they will constantly go back and forth against everything they've previously stood for just to create artificial drama. Any and all character development goes right out the window as the writers do whatever they can to ensure everyone onscreen ends up right back in the same position they started from, regardless of whether it makes any sense or not. Then there's just how incompetent and outright stupid these fairytale heroes are...

Admittedly, these are all issues that have more or less plagued the show from the beginning. It's just that they're worse than ever in season 5. Not even a midseason trip to hell complete with a darker, more horror-like vibe could restore my interest. Especially not since this where the show starts trying to go for shock value in an effort to come off as more mature and introduces us to the most annoying villain yet; Hades. Greg Germann's performance is so hammy and irritating that it kills any menace the foe might have otherwise had.

The only positive things I can say about this season are that the visuals are better than ever and it takes the time to show us what happened to some of those small supporting characters who just kind of disappeared, like Little Red Riding Hood. It even manages to give one or two of them some nice conclusions to their time of the show. Largely though, season 5 is just a mess of bad writing that has really killed my enjoyment of the show. Whether or not I stick around to see what happens to the characters in season 6 before the soft reboot is currently up in the air. Even if I do, I won't be returning after to see the new direction taken from there.

After last season with the weird adding of the Frozen characters the show is back with a crazier storyline. I loved how Emma was now the bad guy. The cast continues to give stupendous performances and the visuals are spectacular. The writing and storyline are still fantastic.

I just don't know how people can hate it. This season was incredible. The first part with a great mystery that I'm sure you never thought possible, a turnaround so impressive that it deserved to be taken to a movie.
The second part, even slower, also fantastic, reminiscent of the old heroes and villains.
All this should prove that the fourth season was just marketing due to the release

All this should prove that the fourth season was just marketing due to the release of Frozen, with stories made in a hurry.
This season has been cautiously done. With the most encouraging and romantic script I have ever seen.

But that's just my opinion. Don't blame me.

With a smart decision to focus on the lead characters and not the overall "gimmick" plot of the season, Once Upon A Time feels renewed with a dark energy in its shockingly sprightly fifth year.
