With a show described as an action-comedy-drama-romance, Glenn Gordon Caron may be setting himself up for failure. But the premiere of "Now and Again" is exactly as advertised: dramatic, funny, poignant, stunning and bold. [24 Sep 1999]

The ingeniousness of Now And Again’s body-switching premise was that it allowed Caron to tell stories about problems that matter to middle-aged people—raising kids, trying to pay the bills, keeping romance alive—but to tell them with a star who looked like Eric Close.

Despite the echo of a hokey past, the quirky Now and Again is one of the season's most appealing shows, largely because it grafts its Frankenstein plot onto a romance: the hard-bodied hero has a mind that still yearns for his middle-aged wife.

In Now and Again, Caron shrewdly baits more hooks than a fishing tournament. The lures are irresistible. [24 Sep 1999, p.E1]

When Goodman goes, he creates a void, but "Now & Again" might survive it thanks to sharp writing and an offbeat premise. [29 Aug 1999, p.F1]

It's an intriguing premise, and executive producer Glenn Gordon Caron (Moonlighting) promises liberal helpings of comedy mixed in the weekly doses of action/suspense. Success rides on where it goes from here. [12 Sep 1999]
