Presenting all of these testimonies without tipping the scale towards one person’s guilt or innocence is a tall task, one that “No One Saw a Thing” deftly manages to do over the course of its six episodes. In the process though, there’s a certain atmospheric quality to this portrait of Skidmore that doesn’t always have a forward momentum to it. ... But “No One Saw a Thing” arrives at some fascinating conclusions when it pulls back its own documentary facade just a little bit.

No One Saw a Thing thus plays as a treatise on the ugly ramifications of brutality and disengagement. It stumbles a bit, though, in trying to make too strong a connection between McElroy and these ensuing incidents. ... Mostly repackaged footage from a 60 Minites segment in the 80s, they have managed to stretch this into a 6 week series. There is an interesting story to tell, but it got lost in whatever the director is trying to accomplish. This could have been summed up in 2, maybe 3 parts.
