    I liked the first two seasons more than this season because all the episodes of these two seasons were distinct and they were casually funny in their own way. You could just watch a random episode and enjoy it as a total stranger to the series. On the other hand the third season has some forgettable episodes mainly focusing on a very uninteresting aspect of the relationship between Nick &I liked the first two seasons more than this season because all the episodes of these two seasons were distinct and they were casually funny in their own way. On the other hand the third season has some forgettable episodes mainly focusing on a very uninteresting aspect of the relationship between Nick & Jess and these characters almost stopped interacting with the other major characters. Episodes are still enjoyable but the series has some problems to deal with.

    Jess was under the spotlight in the first season and in the second season Nick & Schmidt become the focus in the second one and everything back then was fine. At some point the writers thought casting more people and focusing on minor characters was a good idea but it did not really help. Cece, Coach and Winston are very uninteresting characters (because of the writers, I think actors do have the potential to be funny) and them having more screen time just make the episodes flat.    … Expand

    The problem with New Girl is that it is slightly generic. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching it and I like the characters and the chemistry between them. But every week I see what's coming. New Girl has entered its third year and I'm hoping there will be a mix up in the plot and the dynamics of the characters this season.

    A very sitcom trope-y season. The actors and writing still tended to be funnier than not, but most of the situations and plots were tired rehashed "new couple" scenarios for Nick and Jess. Coach (Damon Wayans Jr.) was a great addition to the cast, but is given not nearly enough to do. Schmidt and Cece still have the same storyline for themselves (although Cece's wild transition toA very sitcom trope-y season.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Winston has some more funny moments! Hope they focus little bit less on relationship between Nick and Jess because lot has been about them. Still best show on air! COACH IS BACK! Hilarious episode!… Expand

    New Girl continues to be a consistently funny and interesting show to watch. At times certain supporting characters don't really pull their weight, but it's the performances and usually-good writing that make it worth watching. What keeps the show from being truly excellent is the story progression.     Season 3 of New Girl really takes a downfall as Nick and Jess's relationship is probably one of the most boring and annoying on television. We were routing for them to get together in season 2, but now every episode is predictable.
