"Never Have I Ever," already an outstanding comedy, manages to be even better in its sophomore run. Everything about the show is more confident – the physical comedy is goofier, Devi's dingbat logic is more outlandish, and McEnroe's narration easily flows with the action.
-
Never Have I Ever doesn’t skip a beat in its return, and remains entertaining, challenging, and a joy to spend time with.
-
“Never Have I Ever” Season 2 is just as delightful, funny, and relatable as Season 1, thanks in large part to its cast. Ramakrishnan and Jagannathan remain the MVPs, but there’s not a sour note in the bunch.
-
The good news is that Never Have I Ever's second season is just about as excellent as the first in every way. It expertly walks that tightrope of being earnest without becoming treacly, and its emotions hit just as hard as its humor.
-
The first half does tend to feel repetitive of Devi’s season one issues, but the payoff is well worth it. Never Have I Ever is ultimately about her coming-of-age, and season two tackles it with vibrancy and much-needed introspection.
-
Hadid’s voiceover quickly proves just as flat and unnecessary as McEnroe’s, exposing a frustrating flaw in an otherwise very entertaining teen comedy.
