The main problem with this movie is that it uses a Brazilian actor to play Pablo Escobar. Though the actor does his best, it is immediately obvious that he does not have the correct accent, therefore greatly hindering the authenticity that the producers wanted seeing as Spanish is the major language in the series. The mixing of Colombian actors who have the proper accent with Pablo just makes the difference in the speech more noticeable. I cringe a little every time he speaks. Overall the cast is alright and the acting isn't bad, but the casting director was wrong by choosing a non-native speaker to play arguably, the most important role in the series. Expand

A solid new Netflix show. It's dramatic and violent, but the voice-over narration is constant and overbearing and it deflates a lot of the dramatic tension.

Tiene algunos buenos momentos como el de el avión y cuando van a por el que "suministra las armas" que están guays pero el resto de la temporada me gusta regular. Primera temporada sobrevalorada para mí en cuanto a repercusión social.

The show starts off on the wrong foot: it places Brazilian, Mexican and Puerto Rican actors to play the roles of Colombians. Those who speak Spanish can tell this major mistake and the show loses credibility instantly. Then there is the construction of Murphy and Peña, the DEA agents who are the main characters of the show. Other than being extremely bland and lame, they are portrayed in a Rambo-esque scheme by travelling around Colombia wielding guns in the slums of Medellin or in the middle of Bogota, which is pure American fantasy (and extremely corny). In conclusion, the first season contains too many fallacies and historical errors which makes it nearly impossible to watch. Expand

The show could do better with its shallow portrayal of its female characters, but fans of mob dramas should otherwise find everything they want. The narrative picks up its pace as the season progresses into a final run of episodes that feature the most suspenseful sequences Narcos has ever had.

Moura as Escobar doesn’t bring the overall manic and sometimes comic intensity of Al Pacino’s Tony Montana in Scarface. He’s never dull, though, giving Narcos a thoroughly sinister presence who’s capable of anything and will stop at nothing.

Intense, enlightening, brilliant, unnerving, and addictive, Narcos is high-concept drama at its finest.
